Chapter Three: Three Slaps to Teach a Lesson
Seeing this, Zhang Bin calmed himself down and pressed, "Miss Song, do you feel any physical discomfort?"
Although he was shocked that Qin Feng had managed to cure Song Yuting, thereby disrupting his plans, he had personally triggered the aphrodisiac charm. Combined with the clothes on the floor, he refused to believe that Qin Feng, a man in the prime of his youth, could have resisted.
Xu Banxia also turned her gaze toward them, waiting for Song Yuting's reply.
Song Yuting looked at Qin Feng. The latter felt his heart leap into his throat; even when facing thousands of troops, he had never been this nervous. The weight of the rape accusation was a massive injustice he was desperate to avoid.
Unexpectedly, a moment later, Song Yuting withdrew her gaze and said calmly, "No, I feel quite fine."
This answer surprised many.
"Miss Song, perhaps you should recall carefully..." Zhang Bin, anxious to press the issue, insisted, knowing this was his best chance to finish off Qin Feng.
However, he was met only with Song Yuting’s icy glare and indifferent words: "What is it, Deputy Director Zhang? Are you very eager for something to have happened to me?"
"That’s not it," Xu Banxia said, stepping in to smooth things over. "Deputy Director Zhang didn't mean that; he was just concerned, which led to confusion." As she spoke, she gave him a warning look. A woman’s reputation was more important than anything else.
At the same time, she looked at Qin Feng. While he remained outwardly expressionless, he felt a deep sense of relief inside. Yet, he was puzzled. They were strangers with no ties; why would she help cover for him?
"Director Xu, I’m a little tired. Please, all of you, leave," Song Yuting said.
"Very well."
As Xu Banxia left, her peripheral vision caught a glimpse of the trash can nearby. At some point, a wad of tissues had appeared there, marked with faint red stains.
Zhang Bin gritted his teeth, glaring at Qin Feng with unconcealed resentment. Suddenly, his phone pinged with a notification. His expression shifted, and he immediately left with his phone in hand.
In less than ten seconds, only Lin Mo and Song Yuting remained in the room.
Qin Feng gave a bitter smile. "Why did you help me?"
Song Yuting remained expressionless. "Don't misunderstand. When did I help you?"
"But..." Qin Feng wanted to say more, but was cut off by an icy look from Song Yuting. "Do not say what shouldn't be said. Consider this as if it never happened. We are even!"
Hearing this, Qin Feng sighed and nodded. "Fine, I agree."
"You... help me put on my clothes," Song Yuting said awkwardly, her face flushing a deep red. Having just woken up, her body was still very weak, and she felt completely drained of strength.
Seeing this, Qin Feng helped her dress, appearing calm, though in reality, the sight of her smooth, jade-like skin made the inner fire of his desire burn fiercely once more. He forced it down.
"Support me out. I need to return to the company," Song Yuting said, her face burning. Her body had never been so exposed to a man before, but then she reasoned that since they had already done "that," putting on clothes was nothing.
Upon hearing she wanted to leave, Qin Feng immediately said, "No, you’ve just recovered; you need to rest for a while."
"Rest for a while?" Song Yuting glanced at him coldly. "Since you saved me, you should understand the source of my affliction. Do you think my enemies will give me time to recover?"
Qin Feng was speechless, surprised that she knew she had been targeted.
Song Yuting continued, "If you knew anything about business, you would know that the Wolong Bank, known as the world's premier financial group, is coming to Yunhai in a few days. For years, the Song Group has been under the combined assault of the Sun Group and a dozen other companies. We are teetering on the edge, and thousands of employees rely on this company for their livelihoods. If we fail to secure investment from Wolong Bank, the Song Group will have to declare bankruptcy, and those thousands will be out of work. With this burden on my shoulders, how can I rest?"
She sighed inwardly. Why was she telling him this? He was just a doctor; if he got involved, he wouldn't even know how he died.
However, contrary to her expectation that he would back down, Qin Feng said earnestly, "If I told you I could save the Song Group from disaster, would you be willing to stay in the hospital to recover?"
He wasn't joking. While he was surprised that the Wolong Bank was coming to Yunhai, since they were here, he would do whatever it took to help Song Yuting. After all, he still felt he owed her.
"Save the Song Group from disaster?" Song Yuting was shocked by his claim, then let out a cold laugh. "With what? Your words? Support me out; I don't have time for your nonsense." Had he not saved her life, she would have mocked him even more harshly.
Qin Feng was at a loss for words. He wanted to reveal his identity, but the words died in his throat. If Song Yuting knew who he really was, that would be truly dangerous. There were many people throughout China who wanted him dead.
With no other choice, he helped her downstairs.
...
At the hospital entrance, as Qin Feng supported Song Yuting, they saw a black Bentley parked nearby. Zhang Bin was bowing and scraping before the car like a servant before a master.
The door opened, and a figure in a suit stepped out. Zhang Bin bowed deeply. "Young Master Sun, if you were coming, why didn't you let me know in advance?"
The man was a youth named Sun Zihang, president of the Sun Group. He was dressed in high-end fashion, wearing a Patek Philippe watch and custom leather shoes. He was Song Yuting’s arch-rival.
"The insect was something I went to great lengths to acquire from a master. Is everything done?" Sun Zihang asked with a chuckle.
Zhang Bin’s face turned pale. He stammered, "Young... Young Master Sun, there was a slight accident..."
"Accident?" Sun Zihang’s eyes narrowed. "What accident?"
Terrified, Zhang Bin fell to his knees. Just as he was about to explain, Song Yuting’s cold voice rang out: "Sun Zihang, are you surprised to see that I’m still alive?"
Sun Zihang glanced over. Seeing Song Yuting standing there, his eyes darkened.
At the same time, Qin Feng looked at Zhang Bin and, connecting the dots, realized it was indeed he who had needled Song Yuting. It seemed he was in league with Sun Zihang. If they weren't at the hospital entrance, he would have made this man vanish from the face of the earth.
Sun Zihang was no ordinary man; his dark expression vanished, replaced by a smile. "What are you saying, President Song? I was heartbroken to hear you were critically ill, and I even brought you a gift."
"A gift?" Song Yuting retorted coldly. "Can you really be that kind?" She knew the poison had likely been administered by one of Sun Zihang’s plants.
"Of course." Sun Zihang’s smile was mocking. "It’s just that now that you’re awake, my gift seems a bit premature, but no matter—I believe you will find a use for it sooner or later. Men, bring out the gift for President Song to see!"
As soon as he finished, his entourage opened the back of the car, and several funeral wreaths were lined up at the hospital entrance. Song Yuting’s expression turned icy. This was a blatant threat and humiliation.
"President Song, do you like my gift?" Sun Zihang laughed mockingly. Even if she had survived this time, did she really think she could escape a second or third time?
Song Yuting’s frail body trembled. She clenched her fists, desperate to teach him a lesson, but she had no strength. Watching her frustration, Sun Zihang’s smile only grew brighter, as if to say: *In Yunhai, you cannot escape my grasp.*
At that moment—
*Slap!*
Under the shocked gaze of everyone present, Qin Feng slapped him across the face without warning.
"You brat, you..." Sun Zihang touched his burning cheek in disbelief.
Before he could finish, Qin Feng struck a second time.
*Slap!*
"The first slap is for your lack of morality in humiliating a woman!"
*Slap!*
"The second is for your beastly heart, endangering a human life!"
*Slap!*
"The third is for having no bottom line—you don't deserve to be a man!"
