Volume One, Chapter 19: Boldness
At this moment, Wan Yun’s heart was shaken.
She suddenly realized that Lin Yu was quite charismatic.
Lin Yu, however, felt nothing special.
“If you offend me again next time, don’t blame me for being ruthless,” Lin Yu said coldly to the thugs, then patted Wan Yun’s pert behind. “Get in the car first; let’s go home and find out who your father has crossed.”
In the car, Lin Yu drove while Wan Yun sat in the passenger seat, still a little shaken.
Lin Yu didn’t ask questions; he already knew that violence was inevitable in business competition.
He just didn’t want Old Master Liu’s hard work to be snatched away.
Lin Yu discreetly sent a message to Zhou Lei to investigate.
Back at home, Wan Shi Tai, Wan Yun’s father, frowned deeply.
“Wan Yun, you must be careful these days. I’m assigning two more bodyguards to protect you.”
Wan Yun nodded firmly, her mind flashing back to the moment Lin Yu stepped forward to protect her.
“At that moment, he unhesitatingly shielded me from behind—it was pretty manly of him.”
Meanwhile, Lin Yu sat in the living room casually scrolling through his phone.
Apparently, Zhou Lei had already uncovered the truth.
A large-scale project had recently been launched in Jiangcheng, with an investment exceeding 1.5 billion—the Starlight Pearl development.
The Liu Group, where Wan Yun worked, had invested tremendous effort, determined to secure the project outright.
However, the underworld boss of Jiangcheng, Wang Gui, also sought to claim the project.
Wang Gui commanded numerous fierce generals and was backed by the Qian Kun Group, a powerful enterprise whose rise was largely credited to him.
The reason Wang Gui’s men had kidnapped Wan Yun was simply to pressure the Liu family into relinquishing their bid for the project.
It was a near-perfect plan—except it was unintentionally thwarted by Lin Yu.
Interestingly, one of the investors and leaders of the Starlight Pearl project was Li Dongkang, the wealthiest man in Jiangcheng.
Lin Yu was the life-saving benefactor of Li Dongkang’s beloved wife.
Lin Yu smiled and thought to himself:
If I help the Liu family secure this Starlight Pearl project, they’ll owe me a huge favor.
Then when I leave the Liu family, Old Master Liu won’t stand in my way anymore.
With this thought, Lin Yu’s mood brightened.
He was about to call Li Dongkang to arrange for the project to go to the Liu family when his phone suddenly rang.
It was Zhou Lei!
“Probably he got the surveillance footage,” Lin Yu’s heart leapt as he moved to the balcony before answering.
But it wasn’t Zhou Lei on the line.
Instead, a stranger’s voice spoke—proud, domineering, and imposing.
Lin Yu pondered.
In Jiangcheng, only the so-called War Gods from the battle division could contend with Zhou Lei.
And there was one more person.
That was the male deputy officer of the War God whom Lin Yu had humiliated before—Wang Shuo.
But Wang Shuo was injured, so it was unlikely to be him.
“What’s your relationship with Wang Shuo?” Lin Yu asked coldly.
The other side was clearly surprised; they hadn’t expected Lin Yu to guess so quickly.
“Lin Yu, I have to admit, you’re smart! But you’re also very foolish!”
“That’s right. I am Yuan Feilong, the first deputy officer under the female War God of Jiangcheng. Wang Shuo is my junior brother.”
Hearing this, Lin Yu understood.
They had come for revenge.
“Does your War God know about this?” Lin Yu asked coldly.
Yuan Feilong chuckled, “The War God is busy with state affairs. Such trivial matters need not bother her.”
“Lin Yu, how dare you collude with Zhou Lei’s faction to hack into the battle division’s data bank and illegally obtain surveillance footage!”
His tone was condescending: “I give you one hour to come to Feilong Manor, or Zhou Lei will die!”
With that, Yuan Feilong hung up.
A murderous gleam flared in Lin Yu’s eyes.
What a reckless Yuan Feilong!
Without hesitation, Lin Yu set off alone toward Feilong Manor.
Outside the manor, more than twenty off-road vehicles were parked.
Hundreds of men in suits and sunglasses stood arrayed on both sides of the gate.
Inside the main hall were dozens of men in black training uniforms, their auras restrained yet potent.
Zhou Lei and several of his men were tied to the pillars by the hall’s entrance, their faces marked with clear signs of slaps, looking utterly miserable.
Seeing this, Lin Yu’s fury surged instantly.
“So this is Lin Yu? Quite unremarkable.”
“How could Wang Shuo lose to someone like this?”
The black-clad experts inside the hall looked down arrogantly at Lin Yu as he arrived, their eyes filled with disdain.
Behind them, at a tea table, sat a burly man with a cold demeanor.
His back was straight, his gaze as piercing as an eagle’s, his cheekbones pronounced—clearly a master of internal energy.
He radiated a terrifying aura that warned strangers to stay away.
This was Yuan Feilong, the female War God’s first deputy officer.
“I didn’t expect Lin Yu to actually dare come,” Yuan Feilong murmured, a cold glint flashing in his eyes.
“Young master!” Zhou Lei, seeing Lin Yu outside, was overwhelmed with excitement and shame, tears streaming down his face. “We have brought you disgrace!”
Lin Yu looked at his dejected expression and immediately guessed the humiliations he had endured.
“Yuan Feilong, I’m giving you a chance. Release my men.”
Lin Yu’s gaze was unwavering, his tone grave.
Hearing this, Zhou Lei was deeply moved.
Because Lin Yu called him "one of us," at that moment, even if it cost him his life, he felt it was worth it.
However, Yuan Feilong sneered as he poured tea.
“Zhou Lei wasn’t captured by me. If you want them released, you’d better ask my men.”
The black-clad men laughed arrogantly.
“Lin Yu, you injured our junior brother Wang Shuo. This is a personal grudge between you and Feilong Manor! That’s why none of us are in uniform—we want to fight you personally!”
“Today, we must settle the score with you.”
“Don’t think you can easily take Zhou Lei away. If you have the guts, come rescue him—otherwise, get lost!”
Lin Yu smiled coldly in return.
Since this was a private feud, all the better.
He strode directly toward the stairs.
“Stop!”
The suited men at the entrance immediately raised their weapons, ready to fight.
“No unauthorized entry without the deputy officer’s order. Trespassers die!”
Lin Yu’s eyes suddenly turned icy.
A vast, overwhelming pressure exploded outward.
Bang!
Over a hundred suited men collapsed as if crushed by an invisible mountain, their vision blacking out.
Their weapons clattered to the ground.
The scene was breathtaking.
“Whoa!”
The seasoned experts present were stunned.
Their smiles instantly froze.
“This guy’s pressure is so strong!”
As experienced martial artists of the Jianghu, they immediately guessed Lin Yu’s cultivation was profound and unfathomable.
“Attack!”
Six Earth Realm warriors, each with four dragons embroidered on their chests, drew their swords at lightning speed and charged Lin Yu.
But Lin Yu seemed unfazed, calmly continuing toward the stairs.
Bang!
When the six warriors approached within a meter of Lin Yu, an invisible force blasted them away, tearing their clothes apart.
They were hurled like cannonballs over a hundred meters and crashed heavily to the ground.
Blood spurted from their mouths as they lost consciousness, utterly defeated.
