“Lin Yufei, you little wretch, how dare you talk to Grandma like that? Who do you think you are? Are you trying to rebel?” Originally, the old lady had specifically instructed Lin Huihuang and Lin Meimei to keep quiet during today’s meeting, but seeing Lin Yufei so arrogant, daring to confront her grandmother face to face and speak so harshly, Lin Meimei couldn’t hold back any longer. She sprang up from her seat and shrieked.

“Who are you calling a wretch, you filthy nobody? If I’m nothing, then you’re not even garbage. You dared to scheme against me; don’t think you can muddle through and escape punishment. Sooner or later, I’ll make you pay for this…” Lin Yufei, her anger surging, face flushed, retorted without hesitation, the surprising ferocity in her petite frame on full display.

“You insolent brat, shut your mouth!” Lin Shujie, fiercely protective of her daughter, saw Lin Yufei refusing to back down and immediately let out a lion’s roar, her eyes wide and menacing as she glared at Shen Huifang, scolding her harshly: “Shen Huifang! Look at your daughter, absolutely no manners at all, nothing more than a barking bitch!”

Shen Huifang’s face alternated between pale and flushed. Usually, she was humble before the Lin family, but today she was fuming, especially since the old lady demanded Lin Yuxin hand over thirty-five percent of Linfeng Commerce’s shares without compensation—a solid loss of millions for her family. Gritting her teeth, she prepared to join this war of words.

“Enough!” A deep, angry voice suddenly rang out. Lin Yuanhai’s expression was as dark as the bottom of a pot. He swept his gaze across the room and said gravely, “Anyone who dares utter another vulgar word, get out!”

As the eldest son and actual head of the Lin Group, Lin Yuanhai’s authority within the family was second only to the old lady. When he got angry, everyone fell silent.

“Yuxin, Huihuang and Meimei were at fault, and they know it. Now isn’t the time to pursue responsibility. When something happens to the Lin family, everyone should bear it together. Asking you to hand over thirty-five percent of the shares is a lot, but we all know the truth. You’ve been president of Linfeng Commerce these past two years, surely you’ve had your fill of private gain.”

Faced with her uncle’s baseless accusation, Lin Yuxin looked incredulous, rage rising within her. She held business integrity in the highest regard—an inviolable principle. How could she tolerate such slander?

“Uncle, please clarify. When have I ever taken advantage of my position for personal gain? If you can cite one instance, with clear evidence, I’ll immediately resign as president of Linfeng Commerce and let the family handle my shares as they see fit.”

Seeing Lin Yuxin’s earnest determination and readiness to fight to the end, Lin Yuanhai snorted disdainfully and glanced at Lin Tianhao, who promptly said loudly, “Lin Yuxin, you say you haven’t embezzled, but then tell me—where did you get the money to buy two Mercedes, worth over five hundred thousand? Even if your entire family pooled their assets, it wouldn’t be enough.”

Everyone was stunned, including Lin Yuxin herself.

Lin Yufei scoffed coldly, “Lin Tianhao, the sun isn’t even down and you’re already dreaming. Which eye of yours saw my sister buy million-dollar luxury cars? It’s you who bought one, parked outside. Uncle, as president of the Lin Group, your annual salary is thirty thousand, plus dividends you make sixty or seventy thousand at most. Even if you starved yourself for a year and a half, you could barely afford a car to show off. Uncle only spoils you because you’re his only son!”

Her anger toward the Lin family only made Lin Yufei drop her inhibitions, her sharp tongue in top form, even surpassing herself, leaving Lin Tianhao speechless. He suppressed his anger and simply resorted to petulance: “My dad dotes on me, so what? Are you jealous?”

Then, he pivoted back to the main issue: “You ask which eye saw it? I’ll tell you—I really saw it myself. Not your sister, but your useless husband. Five hundred and forty-six thousand, not a penny less, bought a fully imported GTR and a luxury SUV. I even have a photo. Grandma called him to the meeting and he didn’t show—must be guilty.”

The entire hall fell silent, faces twisted in disbelief, as if they’d heard something out of a fairy tale.

Moments later, the place erupted.

Lin Tianhao spoke with convincing detail, down to the exact price and models, and even produced a photo on his phone: Hong Chen opening the door of a GTR, taken outside a dealership.

It was hard to believe, but harder to deny.

“Sis, I’ll call him and ask directly. The photo has to be fake; Lin Tianhao is framing him.” Finally, Lin Yufei pulled out her phone and dialed Hong Chen.

Before the call connected, Lin Tianhao reminded her, “Put it on speaker. Let everyone hear.”

Lin Yufei gritted her teeth and switched to speaker. After six or seven rings, a groggy voice with a hint of sleepiness answered, “Hello, Yufei, don’t tell me you’re in trouble again.”

Lin Yufei bit her lip in frustration. “You’re the one in trouble. Come clean…” She repeated Lin Tianhao’s accusation.

When she finished, Hong Chen chuckled, “I bought the car, but it’s not mine—it belongs to the company. As Hongcheng Group grows, every executive is assigned a high-end vehicle.”

At his words, a wave of relief swept through the hall. If Lin Yuanhai’s branch were truly prosperous, or if the family’s ‘useless’ son-in-law were suddenly wealthy, it would be harder for them to accept than death.

“Hong Chen, you’re talking nonsense. What company gives its executives a GTR?” Lin Tianhao’s doubts were dispelled by Hong Chen’s explanation, but he grasped at another loophole.

Hong Chen replied calmly, “Don’t get excited. That car was assigned to General Gao’s son.”

Lin Tianhao was left speechless, wanting to argue further but unable to find any grounds. Truthfully, he fully accepted this explanation.

“Anything else? If not, I’ll hang up…”

Seeing the call about to end, Lin Yufei suddenly had a flash of inspiration and hurriedly said, “Wait.” She quickly explained how Hongcheng Group had come to the Lin family demanding an explanation, that Linfeng Commerce was being handed over, and Lin Yuxin was being pressured to give up thirty-five percent of her shares for nothing.

There was a brief silence on the other end, then Hong Chen’s voice came, cold and detached: “The shares can be handed over—one million, paid to Yuxin, to be covered by Lin Meimei and Lin Huihuang. Of course, if anyone else in the Lin family wants to pay, that’s fine. My boss has promised to see this through to the end. If anyone in the Lin family forces Yuxin to act against her will, they’ll bear the consequences!”

He added, “Don’t take my words lightly. Young Master Chen Feiyang of the Chen family, the mastermind, has already paid with both his eyes. My boss won’t hesitate to let Lin Meimei and Lin Huihuang follow in his footsteps. The Lin family will not be able to protect them. Two pairs of eyes for one million—consider your options carefully…”

“One more thing: maybe my father-in-law will be soft-hearted, maybe even Yuxin herself, but if I find out Yuxin has been treated unfairly, I, Hong Chen, will not show mercy!”
