Chapter 11: Zhang Dahu
“Is that so…” Ye Nan pondered silently. In that case, he had to take out Zhang Dahu. If he could get hold of the gun and the special alloy knife Zhang Dahu carried, fighting zombies would become much easier.
Most importantly, Ye Nan’s three women would then have effective weapons to better protect themselves.
Ye Nan asked, “Do you know where Zhang Dahu lives?”
Gong Wanru thought for a moment and replied, “I think it’s Villa No. 7, not too far from here.”
Ye Nan said, “Alright, then let’s go eliminate him now.”
Li Siqi expressed concern, “Zhang Dahu probably has a gun. Isn’t it dangerous to just walk up to him like that?”
“No problem. I can pretend to join him, say I want to be his underling, and when he’s not paying attention, I’ll use my electric powers on his hand. As long as he can’t fire his gun, he’s like an ant in front of me—easy to kill.”
Although Ye Nan was a supernatural being with physical abilities superior to ordinary people, he was only Level 1. If shot, he would still get hurt. He preferred to use his brain rather than brute force to avoid unnecessary risks.
Li Siqi agreed, “That’s actually a good idea.”
Ye Nan looked at Yan Ruoli and said, “Yan Jie, didn’t you say Zhang Dahu is interested in you? Come with me to lure him with a beauty trap. We’ll pretend to join him, but along the way, you say you want to be his woman, openly disdain me for being weak, and argue with me. If Zhang Dahu hesitates even slightly, I’ll have the chance to act.”
“Okay, I’ll go with you.” Yan Ruoli didn’t hesitate. As the number of women around Ye Nan increased, she had to prove her worth to live well—after all, no one liked a burden.
Ye Nan instructed, “Yan Jie, change into something sexier, something that will make Zhang Dahu’s heart race at first sight.”
Yan Ruoli shot him a resentful glance and ran into the room to change.
When she came out again, she was wearing a bright red off-shoulder dress that accentuated her devilish curves, full and alluring.
“How is it? Is it good?” Yan Ruoli asked nervously.
Ye Nan shook his head, “Not enough, change again.”
Yan Ruoli rolled her eyes, swayed her hips and slim waist, then turned back into the room.
Ye Nan followed, locking the door behind him.
Yan Ruoli turned back, irritated: “Why are you coming in?”
“I’m here to help you pick clothes,” Ye Nan said.
“You’re impossible,” Yan Ruoli scolded.
“You don’t understand. Only a man truly understands a man,” Ye Nan said as he opened the wardrobe and picked out a short, floral off-shoulder qipao with a heart-shaped cutout on the chest. He was certain Zhang Dahu wouldn’t be able to resist.
Yan Ruoli looked at the dress and nearly exploded in anger. “This qipao was a gift from my best friend. I’ve always kept it as a collector’s item. It’s so revealing—how can I wear it?”
“Just put it on,” Ye Nan urged.
Yan Ruoli shook her head fiercely. “No.”
Ye Nan smiled slyly and said teasingly, “Oh, I get it. Madam wants her husband to help you change.”
Seeing Ye Nan approaching step by step, Yan Ruoli felt a bit flustered and had no choice but to give in. She trembled as she said, “I’ll… I’ll change. You… go out for a moment.”
“We’re old married couple now, why be so shy?” Ye Nan ignored her struggle and helped her put on the qipao.
When everything was done, Yan Ruoli blushed deeply as she stared in the mirror, stunned—it was breathtakingly beautiful!
She felt as if she had transformed into a thousand-year-old fox spirit, full of seductive charm, especially around the heart-shaped cutout on her chest—it was simply explosive.
Even Ye Nan was spellbound.
This voluptuous, noble beauty was truly worthy of standing alongside Gong Wanru.
Mature, charming, enchanting, and sexy—she was indeed a rare earthly goddess.
Seeing Ye Nan’s fiery gaze, Yan Ruoli felt both embarrassed and proud. Despite her age, she could still captivate such a young man. Her beauty had not faded.
She spun around twice, deliberately asking, “So, how do I look?”
Ye Nan answered honestly, “Of course you look great. All the beauty pageant winners pale in comparison to you.”
Yan Ruoli teased, “Do you say that to every woman?”
“No,” Ye Nan gave a thumbs-up. “Yan Jie, you deserve all the praise.”
Yan Ruoli laughed brightly, her whole body trembling with happiness. It was the first time in a long while she felt the thrill of love.
“I’ll do your makeup,” Ye Nan offered.
In a coquettish voice, Yan Ruoli said, “Okay.”
Stroke by stroke, the makeup was completed.
---
Up close, Yan Ruoli’s heart raced with a mixture of emotions.
After the makeup was done, her features looked even more exquisite—her delicate nose, fiery red lips, and especially her enchanting peach blossom eyes, sparkling like spring water.
Suddenly, Ye Nan said, “It’s almost perfect, but it’s still missing something.”
Curious, Yan Ruoli asked, “What’s missing?”
Ye Nan replied, “The blush between your brows. Makeup can’t quite capture the effect I want.”
“What can we do?” she asked.
“Simple.” Ye Nan wrapped his arms around her from behind and whispered in her ear, “Someone as beautiful as you wouldn’t want to miss out on making some unforgettable memories, would you?”
“You… don’t!” Yan Ruoli understood his meaning perfectly. Half shy and angry, half resentful and annoyed, yet inexplicably excited and thrilled.
Ye Nan lifted Yan Ruoli onto the bed but didn’t unfasten her qipao.
Yan Ruoli was utterly embarrassed.
She recalled how, to take revenge on Wang Xingpeng, she had become Ye Nan’s woman and done foolish things in the yard. Thinking back, she was ashamed, especially since Wang Xingpeng and Gong Wanru had watched.
Now, although her qipao remained on, the heart-shaped cutout on her chest and the hem gave Ye Nan’s electric powers enough room to work.
---
Outside the door, Gong Wanru and Li Siqi waited, curious about what Yan Ruoli would wear. They waited a long while but saw no sign of her. Only when they heard noises inside did they realize what was happening.
Wonderful, just wonderful!
Li Siqi complained angrily, “That guy is completely lawless! Gong Jie, why don’t you stop him?”
Gong Wanru crossed her arms and smirked, enjoying the show. “Why should I? Maybe in a few days, it’ll be your turn.”
Li Siqi blushed, realizing what Gong Wanru implied.
“Eventually, you’ll have to experience it,” Gong Wanru said.
“Gong Jie, stop it,” Li Siqi moved aside, unwilling to continue.
Two hours later, Ye Nan came out of the room with Yan Ruoli.
Ye Nan looked refreshed, all fatigue washed away, while Yan Ruoli looked tender and radiant, her skin as if washed with milk—exceptionally beautiful.
This was what Ye Nan meant by an effect no makeup could achieve.
Seeing Gong Wanru and Li Siqi, Yan Ruoli felt ashamed, as if she had no face to show.
Especially Li Siqi’s disappointed expression made Yan Ruoli blush deeply.
Once ready, Ye Nan and Yan Ruoli reviewed the plan again before heading to Villa No. 7.
The way was clear of many zombies, whom Ye Nan dealt with. The two cautiously approached the villa.
Ye Nan didn’t bother hiding, so Zhang Dahu spotted them while still outside the villa.
Zhang Dahu stood on the second floor, staring intently at the two below—more precisely, at Yan Ruoli.
He had long coveted Yan Ruoli, and now, seeing her dressed so seductively even from a distance, Zhang Dahu’s breath quickened.
Yan Ruoli smiled coldly. He was clearly a lecher.
“Brother Hu!” Ye Nan called out, “We’re here to join you. Open the door!”
Zhang Dahu frowned, “Join me?”
Ye Nan coaxed gently, “Yes, it’s the end of the world. No one’s in charge. With your abilities, don’t you want to become a local boss?”
Zhang Dahu considered this.
Ye Nan continued, “Brother Hu, you can start by taking over this neighborhood, recruiting many underlings. Then all the food and women will belong to you. Once you have a base, you can expand outward, take over nearby neighborhoods, and finally control all of Donghai City. Wouldn’t that be wonderful?”
Zhang Dahu shivered at the thought.
He came from the underworld; who didn’t have ambitions?
In peaceful times, he wouldn’t dare think like this, but now, in the apocalypse, with social order collapsed, why not make a name for yourself? It wouldn’t be a wasted life.
Zhang Dahu’s personality was simple-minded but strong, arrogant, and fond of praise. He was thoroughly tempted, even imagining himself as a local big shot—what a wonderful feeling.
Still cautious, Zhang Dahu gripped his gun tightly, aimed at Ye Nan, and asked, “Kid, you’ve got three women with you. Where are the other two?”
Seeing the gun, Ye Nan hurriedly explained, “I know I’m useless and can’t protect them, so I want to bring them to join you. But two of them refused, so I tied them up to offer to you as a pledge.”
Zhang Dahu laughed heartily, “Not bad, kid. You have potential. In peaceful times, beautiful women are worth a fortune, but in the apocalypse, they’re only worth a bowl of rice.”
“Brother Hu, open the door! Zombies are coming!” Ye Nan pretended to be anxious.
“Coming, coming.” Zhang Dahu went downstairs and opened the gate.
Ye Nan and Yan Ruoli entered the villa’s yard and closed the door behind them.
Zhang Dahu stepped back, still pointing his gun at Ye Nan, keeping a safe distance.
From the second floor earlier, he couldn’t see Yan Ruoli clearly, but now, seeing her alluring figure up close, he was stunned.
His anger flared instantly.
Ye Nan sneered inwardly—he had indeed taken the bait.
Yan Ruoli coquettishly said, “Brother Hu, we came to join you, but why are you still pointing a gun at us? What if it goes off accidentally?”
“Hehe,” Zhang Dahu chuckled, “How do I know if you’re hiding weapons? Why don’t you take off your clothes so I can check?”
“Well…” Yan Ruoli feigned reluctance.
Zhang Dahu licked his lips and looked at Ye Nan. “Kid, your woman is really something.”
Yan Ruoli snapped, “Brother Hu, don’t say that about him. He’s useless. I thought leaving Wang Xingpeng and coming to him would give me a good life, but he’s worse than Wang. You might not believe it, but I’m still hungry now.”
Zhang Dahu grinned wickedly, “Don’t worry. Brother Hu has food to keep you full.”
“Oh, Brother Hu, you’re so annoying.” Yan Ruoli coquettishly rolled her eyes, radiating charm.
That was the last straw. Zhang Dahu couldn’t resist any longer.
This woman was like a fox spirit, almost stealing his soul.
Ye Nan said, “Yan Jie, I’m your man after all. How can you say that about me?”
Yan Ruoli retorted, “Ha, compared to Brother Hu, are you even a man?”
Zhang Dahu watched their bickering with great interest. Yan Ruoli’s constant insults of Ye Nan paired with praise for himself fed his vanity like never before.
No doubt, their act was convincing, lowering Zhang Dahu’s guard significantly.
Burning with desire, Zhang Dahu said to Yan Ruoli again, “Come here and take off your clothes.”
“Coming,” Yan Ruoli didn’t resist this time. She stepped closer to Zhang Dahu, hands at her neckline, pretending to unfasten her clothes.
Zhang Dahu said, “Kid, stay right there and don’t move. When I’m done having fun, I’ll let you join me.”
Ye Nan pounded his chest, looking aggrieved.
Zhang Dahu ignored him, focusing on Yan Ruoli with an evil smile.
Suddenly, Yan Ruoli pointed behind Zhang Dahu and shouted, “Oh my god, zombies!”
Zhang Dahu tensed, turning to look, but saw no zombies.
He cursed silently—too late.
At Yan Ruoli’s shout, Ye Nan surged forward, now within striking distance.
He raised his hand and released a bolt of electricity, striking Zhang Dahu’s hand precisely.
Zhang Dahu groaned in pain as the gun fell from his grasp.
Yan Ruoli reacted quickly, kicking the gun far away.
Without the gun, Zhang Dahu couldn’t threaten Ye Nan anymore.
“Damn it, kid, how dare you trick me!” Zhang Dahu cursed. “And you, little bitch, I’ll kill you later.”
Zhang Dahu had trained in sanda and was famous on the underworld circuit for his fighting skills. One man against several adults was no problem. Though Yan Ruoli had kicked away his gun, he wasn’t panicked—if it came to close combat, he was confident Ye Nan was no match.
He drew a hidden dagger from his pocket with his left hand and lunged at Ye Nan.
Ye Nan caught the dagger and threw it far away, sneering, “Aren’t you curious how I just unleashed that electricity?”
Hearing this, Zhang Dahu’s heart sank. “You’re going to tell me?”
“Of course,” Ye Nan said. “Actually, I’m a supernatural being.”
