Volume 1, Chapter 27: Enhancement of Mental Power
It had been a long time since I last saw Ma Guotao. He looked visibly haggard, with sunken eyes and a stubbly beard; his overall demeanor was dismal. Shen Tong offered a slight nod as a greeting.
"This madman has truly lost his mind to hone himself through such brutal methods. Is he not afraid of losing his life in the process?" an elderly man in long robes remarked, his expression grave.
"Enough. Leave this matter to me," Old Wei said, patting his chest. "No need to buy a phone. I have a brand-new one someone gave me. I’ll just give it to your father as a gift. Wait here." With that, he ignored Shen Tong’s polite protests and headed out.
Perhaps it was the effect of Ji Song’s words, but the boss, fearing that this deal might slip through his fingers, agreed to Su You’s terms without further hesitation.
Lan Yue’s heart was fragile, unable to withstand the constant turbulence of emotions; it was sensitive, unable to bear the lingering echoes of the past. Perhaps love is a beautiful note that sounds sweet while being played, but once the keys are released, it falls into a stifling, breathless silence.
Moreover, although Ye Qinglan was young, she was, after all, Empress Gu’s niece-in-law and the granddaughter-in-law of the Duke of Dingguo. To allow herself to be humiliated would be a disgrace to the Empress and the Duke’s estate, so what was wrong with fighting back?
While they talked, Lin Mengmeng put on the bracelet Li Tian had given her. Her wrists were slender and fair, and the silver-white bracelet sat perfectly, adding a touch of radiance to her wrist.
"Time is of the essence. I have gathered you all here in the hope that we can pool our wisdom and stand united to overcome these difficulties," Ennis said, his expression solemn.
Although Ding Qingxiang was not convinced after Wu Jiangkai let him off the hook last time, he knew he had to keep up appearances. After all, Wu held his secrets, and if he wanted to make a comeback, he had to wait for the right opportunity.
Elder Han’s expression remained indifferent. He gently twisted the thumb ring on his hand, and a dense green light erupted! It formed a protective barrier around him, and the double-helix beam caused only a ripple upon the surface of the shield.
At the doorway, Xiao Yue kept a vigilant watch over Sima Xuan; neither spoke. If Sima Xuan attempted to rush into the room, Xiao Yue would stop him without hesitation.
After moving into Shouzhi Garden, the Chongzhen Emperor truly caught a glimpse of the prosperity of the south. Every flower, every blade of grass, every stone and tree was crafted with ingenuity, and the sound of the bamboo groves made one reluctant to leave. Though the garden was small, it was exquisite. Naturally, it lacked the grandeur of the imperial gardens in Beijing, but it possessed a unique charm all its own.

Seeing that Feng Wancheng ignored him to greet that young man instead, Liu Changyi narrowed his eyes, a flicker of anger rising alongside a look of contemplation.
Ye Zusheng watched his back, sensing that a rift had formed between him and the third brother.
Although Su Yizhou and his companions would eventually discover the existence of Lou Sichen, that was a matter for another time.
Xu Zheng felt his mind go blank, unable to process his thoughts. He stared blankly at Jin Ling’s belly, unable to utter a word.
"Big brother, you shouldn’t be asking us about such things." The two shook their heads and stood up, ready to leave.
Chen Yue nodded. There were many people in the Ming Dynasty who knew him, and it was impossible for him to know them all.
After hanging up, Chu Yunfeng felt a whirlwind of emotions. She hoped her friends would be well, that they would become masters of their own lives and find their own happiness.
Li Xiaoyao extended just one finger and tapped lightly against the spear’s aura, shattering the force of Liu Qing’s thrust instantly.
Furthermore, he had long sensed that this fellow possessed great destiny and could break through his own limitations again and again under pressure.
Qin Weiyi shook his head and sighed inwardly. His mind had been far too sensitive lately; it wasn't normal! He hadn't been like this before.
An Lingtong ultimately did not chase after him. She sat back down on the stool slowly. The soft, comfortable cushion beneath her reminded her of what Young Master Yue had just said, and her expression turned sweet yet bittersweet.
"You go to the hospital first; I'll take a car home later!" She turned to him with a faint smile. Seeing no vehicles passing nearby, she opened the door and hopped out of the car.

"Fine, fine, fine, it’s my fault." Wan Qing wasn't worried that Yang Liu’er would actually stop speaking to her. After all, they were both injured and would have to spend quite some time together in this room. Knowing Yang Liu’er’s playful nature, she would eventually find the silence unbearable.
"What do you mean 'you know'? How could you possibly know that!" Leiya Samprulus thought to himself, wondering when he had become so devoid of privacy.
Alice stopped pretending, pulled Wuchen away, and left directly. Her expression was somewhat strange, her face flushed red as if she were dealing with something unspeakable, looking incredibly shy.
Seeing Wuchen so determined, Bai Jue found it hard to object. In the end, he was only a creation of Wuchen’s.
She didn’t care. Young Master Yue was hers. Since he was the one who had teased and provoked her first, he belonged to her, An Lingtong, for the rest of his life. No one could take him away, and he could not leave—unless she abandoned him. Otherwise, even in death, he would have to die by her side.
Just as he lowered his head in thought, a sharp whistle echoed in his ears, like the cry of a hawk, resonating in all directions.
"Linshuxing" was the first, the one the gods could never ignore and would remember forever.
She looked at Bai Yang. Bai Yang looked back at her. In those two seconds of eye contact, both felt a complex turmoil in their hearts, each wondering why the other was there.
