Chapter Thirty-Two: Iron-Gold Ape Versus the Savage Beast Bloodline
“Blood, blood, such pure blood!”
In the darkness, a figure with eyes glowing crimson gazed greedily at the man walking on the street.
“Even some random riffraff dares to set their sights on me?”
Having been delayed on the road for several days, Wang Tian was already brimming with pent-up frustration, and now someone had the nerve to target him. A flash of anger crossed his heart.
He halted abruptly and walked directly toward the corner.
“Yes, come over here, closer, just a little closer!”
Seeing the “prey” actually approaching on his own, the hidden figure was overjoyed.
“Hmph!”
Wang Tian’s lips curled into a cold sneer. From a leisurely walk, he suddenly accelerated.
“What—?”
The presence in the shadows was startled as the target vanished from sight. Before it could react, it felt a hand gripping its throat.
“Let’s see what kind of thing’s been eyeing me!”
Wang Tian, grinning viciously, hoisted the creature high by its neck.
“Cough, cough!”
The being from the darkness struggled desperately, its slender hands clawing at his arm, but it couldn’t even scratch the surface.
“What the hell is this?”
It looked human, but its face was pale as death, eyes scarlet, and a strong stench of blood hung about it. Wang Tian couldn’t tell what manner of thing he was dealing with.
“Why don’t you tell me what you are? Don’t even think about running—try it, and I’ll tear you apart!”
Before the other could speak, Wang Tian flung the creature to the ground like a sack of rags, crossed his arms, and watched impassively from the side.
“Cough, cough!”
Clutching its throat and gasping for air, the pale man answered in terror.
“I am Allen!”
“I don’t care what your name is. Tell me what you are.”
Wang Tian fixed him with a tiger’s glare.
“Yes!”
Allen’s body trembled uncontrollably.
“I am a follower of the Blood God!”
“Blood God?”
Wang Tian’s face twitched. He thought of the Duke of Ephesoya, that infamous vampire lord, and felt a flutter of uncertainty. Was this one of his followers?
“And who is the Blood God?”
“The Blood God is the source of all vampires, the great deity!”
Allen’s expression was rabid with fanaticism.
Wang Tian remained unsure, unable to tell whether this had anything to do with the Duke of Ephesoya. If it did, he really wouldn’t dare meddle.
“Does anyone know what a Blood God follower is?”
He sent a message directly in the public channel.
Unlike other worlds, the War Realm had no main storyline, and every person could post three free messages in the public channel, with more available for a price.
“Blood cultists? Those vampire lackeys? Just haul them over to the Night Watch for a bounty!”
“No relation to that big shot—deal with them however you want!”
“Do as you please, no need to fear offending the powerful.”
A flood of replies appeared, and Wang Tian quickly understood the situation.
“Where is your base?”
He looked down at Allen.
“What do you want to do?”
Despite his fear, Allen remained wary.
“Why so much nonsense? Speak up!”
Now that he knew Allen had nothing to do with the Duke of Ephesoya, Wang Tian had no more scruples.
Allen clamped his mouth shut and said nothing.
“Hey!”
Wang Tian’s eyes narrowed.
“You’re really asking for it!”
He took a step forward, making Allen shrink back in terror.
“Hey, pal, I’ve been tailing this guy for a few days now. How about you let me have him?”
Suddenly, a steady voice came from not far away.
Wang Tian looked up.
He saw a tall man slowly emerging from the shadows.
“A player?”
Wang Tian ventured tentatively.
“Oh? Didn’t expect to run into a fellow countryman!”
It was Fang Yuan. He was a little surprised to find that the one who had intercepted him was also a player.
“Brother, I’ve been watching this thing for days. Why not let me have him? One thousand Paradise Coins?”
“That valuable?”
Wang Tian was a bit surprised, though a mere thousand wasn’t enough to sway him.
“You value him this much? Now I’m even more interested.”
With that, he strode forward, reaching for Allen.
“Hmph!”
Fang Yuan’s face darkened. Without another word, he transformed into the form of an Iron Golden Ape, his body swelling in size.
“Not bad!”
Seeing the opponent charge, Wang Tian grew excited.
As a martial artist, nothing thrilled him more than a close-quarters brawl where every blow landed with real weight.
The fists of the two figures, one large and one small, collided, making them both take a step back.
Wang Tian’s cropped hair stood on end, a faint crimson light flickering about him.
There were no flashy techniques, only the pure, visceral thrill of combat.
Blows rained down on each other with no noticeable effect, but Allen and the walls nearby suffered for it.
Locked by the auras of two beasts, Allen dared not run and could only cower to the side, while the surrounding buildings, pummeled by their fists and feet, looked like they were in the middle of a demolition.
At first, Fang Yuan had some reservations—he worried about attracting the Night Watch—but as the fight grew fiercer, a bloodthirsty gleam spread in his eyes. When his battle-lust finally overwhelmed his reason, he gave himself over to the fight, oblivious to all else.
“Roar!”
Fang Yuan howled at the sky, beating his chest in excitement like a great ape.
His body swelled even larger before Wang Tian’s eyes.
“Damn, that’s cheating—he can even transform!”
Wang Tian’s face changed. At first, he could still keep up, but now, with such size and strength, he doubted he could withstand a single punch or kick.
Before he could react, the five-meter-tall Fang Yuan swung two enormous fists down at him in rapid succession.
Wang Tian dodged, the blows smashing into the ground and sending shards of stone flying, striking Allen and sending him sprawling.
“Now that’s power!”
Wang Tian shouted in excitement.
“Big guy, today I’ll give you a proper fight!”
No longer suppressing the riotous blood within him, Wang Tian’s hair rapidly turned crimson, his face marked by jagged black lines in strange patterns.
On closer inspection, it was clear those were the veins bulging beneath his skin.
His shirt tore apart as his arms swelled with power. Though he didn’t grow as large as Fang Yuan, once he let his beast blood run wild, both his strength and speed increased dramatically.
He darted swiftly, circling behind Fang Yuan and lashing out with a kick.
Yet Fang Yuan’s massive body remained unmoved.
“Hm?”
Wang Tian realized he hadn’t landed a solid blow. Something invisible had stopped him.
Missing his mark, he quickly retreated to open up distance.
Then, before his eyes, Fang Yuan’s form flickered—and split into two.
But the two were not identical; there were clear distinctions between them.
One was solid, one incorporeal, obviously separate and distinct.
