This time, Zhao Hu struck ruthlessly. Not only did he secretly incite the local residents to boycott Bei Mo’s project, but he also bribed several key officials to sabotage Bei Mo at every turn.
Bei Mo’s partners began to waver, calling one after another to inquire about the situation, their voices filled with worry and doubt.
“President Bei, Zhao Hu is being way too arrogant! Can our project even continue?” A partner’s anxious voice came through the phone.
“Don’t worry. Everything is under my control,” Bei Mo replied steadily, as if he had everything in hand. Yet, his grip on the phone tightened ever so slightly.
Zhao Hu’s relentless pressure brought a burden unlike any before.
Su Yao stood beside him, watching the tension set in his jaw, feeling a trace of unease. She knew this crisis was more severe than any they had faced before.
After hanging up, Bei Mo walked to the floor-to-ceiling window, overlooking the nightscape of City C. Beneath the dazzling lights, the city appeared prosperous, yet beneath its brilliance, countless undercurrents stirred.
“Su Yao, arrange a meeting with Director Wang for me.”
“Yes, President Bei,” Su Yao responded promptly.
Bei Mo knew that to break the deadlock, he had to find Zhao Hu’s weakness and deliver a fatal blow.
Meanwhile, Duan Fei’s project faced a new challenge.
A group of unidentified individuals suddenly appeared at the construction site, claiming the land belonged to them and obstructing the work.
Duan Fei rushed to the scene, frowning at the chaos before her.
She approached the leader of the group with a cold tone. “Who are you? On what grounds are you stopping our construction?”
The man sized her up with contempt and sneered, “Little girl, this land belongs to us now. If you know what’s good for you, leave quickly and don’t cause trouble.”
Duan Fei sneered back. “Trouble? Let’s see who causes trouble!” She pulled out her phone and dialed a number. “Hello, Captain Wang? There’s someone obstructing construction here, suspected of provoking trouble. Please come handle this…”
The man’s face changed, “You…”
Duan Fei ended the call, her eyes sharp as she stared at him. “Now, who do you think is causing trouble?” A cold smile curled at her lips.
Within ten minutes, several police cars roared onto the scene. Officers swiftly took control.
The man turned pale, stammering, “You… you actually called the police…”
“Don’t like it? Too bad!” Duan Fei rolled her eyes, refusing to give him any more attention. She turned to the project manager. “Continue construction!”
The employees around witnessed Duan Fei’s decisive manner. Those who once mocked her as a “figurehead” or as someone relying on connections now silently lowered their heads.
A surge of pride welled up within Duan Fei.
At the same time, Bei Mo discovered Zhao Hu’s vulnerability.
It turned out Zhao Hu had been engaging in illegal dealings behind the scenes for personal gain, with irrefutable evidence.
Bei Mo struck decisively, submitting the evidence to the authorities while leveraging commercial strategies to suppress Zhao Hu’s company.

Zhao Hu’s subordinates panicked, scurrying like ants on a hot pan.
Zhao Hu himself never expected Bei Mo to be so ruthless, striking directly at his vital point.
In a fit of rage, he threw his phone to the ground, shouting, “Bei Mo! Just you wait!”
But it was all too late.
After Zhao Hu’s illegal activities were exposed, his company’s stock plummeted. Partners withdrew their investments, and he was taken in for investigation by the authorities.
Bei Mo’s breakthrough overcame Zhao Hu’s obstruction, allowing the new market project to proceed smoothly.
Those around him cheered, and Su Yao applauded excitedly, eyes full of admiration. “President Bei, you’re incredible!”
A slight smile appeared at the corner of Bei Mo’s lips, but his gaze turned toward City C’s direction...
“She should be close to success too, right?” Duan Fei scrolled through her phone, reading the news of Bei Mo’s triumph in the new market, a smile tugging at her lips.
This man truly was formidable.
She had always known Bei Mo was capable, but the clean and decisive manner of this victory still surprised her, even stirring a hint of pride within her.
Meanwhile, after wrapping up matters in the new market, Bei Mo immediately flew back to City C.
Upon landing, he headed straight to Duan Fei’s company.
Standing outside her office, he took a deep breath and pushed the door open.
“You’re back?” Duan Fei looked up and saw Bei Mo.
“Mm.” Bei Mo walked over, his gaze gentle as it met hers. “I heard your project is progressing well?”
“Of course!” Duan Fei raised an eyebrow with a smile. “You don’t even know who you’re talking to.”
They exchanged a smile, the air around them tinged with a rosy warmth.
The surrounding employees all displayed knowing smiles.
Finally, these two had started showing their affection openly.
“Ahem,” Su Yao cleared her throat, breaking the sweet atmosphere. “President Bei, the documents are ready.”
Bei Mo snapped back to business, taking the files but stealing another glance at Duan Fei.
With her project successfully launched, Duan Fei had become the company’s shining star.
Those who once awaited her downfall now watched helplessly as she stepped toward success.
At the celebration banquet, Duan Fei wore a radiant red dress, glowing with brilliance.
Raising her glass, her smile was bright. “Thanks to everyone’s hard work, we succeeded!”
Bei Mo looked at her with eyes full of tenderness.

He knew how much effort Duan Fei had poured into this project.
He raised his glass to clink with hers, his gaze brimming with love.
Yet just as their feelings deepened, a discordant voice shattered the harmony.
“Duan Fei, I heard your reputation at Bei Group isn’t very good. Is that true?” A flamboyantly dressed woman approached Duan Fei, her tone dripping with sarcasm.
Duan Fei’s smile vanished instantly. She fixed the woman with a cold stare. “What do you mean?”
The woman covered her mouth with a smile. “Nothing much. Just heard you were playing around at Bei Group, climbing up through men…”
Bei Mo’s face darkened, about to speak, but Duan Fei grabbed his arm.
She looked at the woman, a cold smile curling her lips. “My affairs are none of your business.”
“Oh? Getting angry?” The woman persisted, “Did I say something wrong? You…”
“Slap!”
A sharp slap cut off the woman’s words.
Duan Fei withdrew her hand, eyes icy. “Watch your mouth!”
The crowd gasped.
Bei Mo looked at Duan Fei and took her hand, whispering, “Let’s go.”
They left the banquet hall, leaving behind a murmur of speculation.
“What happened? Is the rumor true?”
“I don’t know, but judging by Duan Fei’s expression, it seems there’s some truth…”
“Tsk tsk, the secrets of the wealthy, truly fascinating…”
In the hotel corridor, Bei Mo stopped and looked at Duan Fei. “Those rumors…”
Duan Fei interrupted him, “No need to explain.”
Bei Mo gazed at her, warmth flooding his heart.
He pulled her into his embrace and whispered by her ear, “I will get to the bottom of this.”
Duan Fei leaned against his chest, listening to his strong heartbeat, her heart gradually calming.
Yet what she did not know was that this was only the beginning...
“Bei Mo, tell me, who’s behind all this?” Duan Fei lifted her head, looking into Bei Mo’s eyes.
