This scene happened to be witnessed by Huang Ying as she was passing by. However, she was currently annoyed with Ming Han, so she didn’t go over to ask about his injury.

When Huang Ying returned to the dormitory, Chen Li was quietly reading a novel—a romance, and she wore a look of sorrow as she read.

“Lili, I just passed by the basketball court…”

“Mm!” Chen Li responded absentmindedly. Now, whenever she heard the word “basketball,” she immediately thought of a certain annoying someone. Hmph!

“I saw Ming Han. He seemed to be injured—quite badly, actually—and was crouched on the ground, unable to get up.”

Upon hearing this, Chen Li immediately stood up, her tone changing. “Is he… okay?”

“I don’t know, but Yuhang already went to call the school doctor. It seems pretty serious.”

Chen Li pulled out her phone and dialed Yuhang’s number.

Generally, second-year middle school students rarely had mobile phones, but as boarders, they usually did to keep in touch with their families.

Ming Han, however, didn’t have one—nor did he feel he needed such a thing.

“Yuhang, where are you guys?”

Yuhang recognized Chen Li’s voice. “We’re at Haimen Clinic. Ming Han hurt his foot and is being looked at now.”

“He’s not seriously hurt, is he?”

“I don’t know! Chen Li, could you come? I have something to do—help me look after him for a bit and take that cripple to get some food later. Otherwise, he’ll starve.” With that, Yuhang hung up.

Chen Li thought, There’s no way I’m going. But then she imagined that if Yuhang actually left, that pig would really go hungry! Fine, I’ll go.

She changed her clothes, left the school, and caught a tricycle.

When Chen Li finally saw that pig—no, Ming Han—he was staring blankly at the ceiling, receiving an IV drip.

Chen Li bit her lip but still walked in.

Ming Han was startled when he saw her. “Uh, Chen Li, what a coincidence! Are you sick too?”

Chen Li thought, Are you an idiot? Can’t you tell why I’m here? Coincidence—unbelievable! This guy has zero emotional intelligence!

She sat down beside him. “What did the doctor say?”

Only then did Ming Han realize Chen Li had come to see him. Feeling a bit embarrassed, he scratched his head. “I sprained a tendon, but the bone’s fine. Just getting some anti-inflammatories.”

Chen Li let out a sigh of relief. As long as that pig was okay.

Suddenly, Ming Han looked at her seriously. “Chen Li, let’s make up.”

Although Chen Li felt a flicker of happiness at those words, she kept her expression neutral. “Make up for what?”

Ming Han lowered his voice. “Can you switch seats back? Huang Ying keeps calling me a pig every day—it’s really hurting my self-esteem.”

You really are a pig, Chen Li thought. No, worse than a pig—can you not see anything? Still, she replied calmly, “I’ll think about it.”

After two hours of IV drips and picking up some medicine for bruises and inflammation, they left the clinic.

“Where shall we eat?” Ming Han asked.

At this point, he was limping, leaning heavily on Chen Li’s petite shoulder. “Chen Li, you’re too short! Leaning on you is really uncomfortable.”

“If you say one more word, I’ll go back right now,” Chen Li replied coldly.

Ming Han immediately shut up and focused on finding a restaurant.

In the end, the two of them ate at a simple fast food place. It was fairly busy, and since Ming Han’s leg was hurt, he stayed seated while Chen Li did all the ordering and fetching of food, running back and forth.

Watching her busy figure, Ming Han was suddenly deeply moved.

During the meal, Ming Han said, “Chen Li, you’re so pretty and so virtuous! No wonder so many people like you.”

Chen Li replied sweetly, “No one ever sees my virtuous side.”

“Are you a pig, Chen Li? I saw it today! I’ll make sure to tell everyone about your excellent qualities…”
