In a private hospital in Causeway Bay, Hong Kong Island, upon hearing that Chen Haonan had been injured, his girlfriend, Tiny, rushed to the hospital to care for him. Yet, when she learned that the root of Chen Haonan’s troubles had been severed, she was utterly distraught. She was barely in her twenties; if she stayed with Chen Haonan, the rest of her life would be spent as a living widow.

As for this small matter concerning the gang member Chen Haonan, once Wang Kun received the outcome, he paid it no further heed. Now, Wang Kun had already commanded his beautiful death warriors to take control of all the gangs in Hong Kong Island; even Chicken, the notorious gangster, had been eliminated by Ding Yao. Most of Chen Haonan’s loyal followers had met untimely ends, leaving only the broken remnant that was Chen Haonan still alive. Naturally, the subsequent storyline of the gangsters had faded into oblivion.

However, Wang Kun was in no hurry to depart, since he could remain in this timeline for another five years. Although he couldn’t advance to the next level in this world, he could still practice secret arts without hindrance. With his talent enhanced just a little more, Wang Kun decided to make good use of this world to cultivate himself.

Moreover, his newly recruited beauty, Ding Yao, required time to improve her strength. A few years would suffice for Ding Yao to reach the advanced War God level. As for Haiyao and Kaixin, while they couldn’t break through in this world, after accumulating power for several years, they would surely advance directly to the planetary rank upon returning to the Devouring Starry Sky world. Meanwhile, Xia Tian and Zhang Yijun could, like Wang Kun, delve into the secret arts of the Ink Star lineage.

Although Huyuan Bo of the Ink Star lineage was, in the grand scheme of the universe, a mere novice, for Wang Kun, whose planetary level was not even worthy of the term “novice,” the Ink Star’s secret arts provided a legacy he could digest for a long time.

Three months later, Chen Haonan was discharged, and Tiny had cared for him throughout those months. Yet, shortly after his release, Tiny, as the story originally dictated, was injured and hospitalized, falling into a coma. In the initial months, Chen Haonan visited her daily, but as time dragged on, his mutilation changed his temperament drastically. He drank himself into oblivion each day and gradually forgot about Tiny, the vegetative girl lying in the hospital.

A year passed, and Tiny awoke, gradually returning to normal life and slowly growing distant from Chen Haonan. Such trivial matters no longer drew Wang Kun’s attention. After more than a year of diligent cultivation, Wang Kun decided to take a break and relax.

“I recall that in the later chapters of the gangster series, there were two female teachers who crossed paths with Chen Haonan,” Wang Kun mused idly. He immediately thought of the next two characters in the gangster world’s story.

A few days later, through his powerful intelligence network, Wang Kun tracked down the two female teachers. One, Teacher Xin Xin, taught at a secondary school, while the other, Duanmu Ruoyu, was an instructor at a kindergarten. Duanmu Ruoyu and Tiny were remarkably alike, as if cast from the same mold. Wang Kun suspected that the two might be long-lost sisters.

With this clue in hand, Wang Kun, seeking amusement, transformed himself into a PE teacher at Xin Xin’s school.

“Hey, is that the new PE teacher? He’s so handsome!” exclaimed a group of schoolgirls.

“Yeah, who would have thought the new teacher would look so good? I wonder if he’s any good at his job,” another chimed in.

At this time, countless schools in Hong Kong Island were heavily influenced by the gangs outside. It wasn’t an exaggeration to say that the campus had become a miniature society, with many youths already pledging allegiance to gang leaders while still in school.

In the teachers’ office, Wang Kun met the faculty one by one.

“Hello, I’m Wang Kun, the new PE teacher,” Wang Kun greeted Xin Xin with a warm smile, distinctly different from his interactions with the other teachers.

“Hello, Mr. Wang. My name is Li Xin Xin,” she replied shyly.

That afternoon, after school, Li Xin Xin had barely stepped out of the gate when a group of gangsters swaggered up to her.

“Well, well! Look what we have here—a pretty girl. How about joining us for a drink?” one of them jeered.

“Don’t come any closer. We’re near the school, the cops will be here soon,” Li Xin Xin warned anxiously.

“Cops? How scary!” the gangster mocked.

Just then, Wang Kun appeared from around the corner.

“Teacher Xin Xin, are you alright?” he asked, his face full of concern as he saw her being harassed.

“Mind your own business, kid! Get lost!” the gangster snarled.

Without hesitation, Wang Kun charged forward heroically. Soon, he was locked in a fierce and difficult struggle with the gangsters.

At that moment, one of the gangsters slashed Wang Kun’s arm with a butterfly knife, and blood instantly stained his arm crimson. Li Xin Xin, witnessing this, cried out in panic.

“Boss, the cops are coming!”

“Kid, you’re lucky today,” the gangster spat.

In the blink of an eye, the gangsters scattered, leaving only the concerned Li Xin Xin and the wounded Wang Kun behind.

“Mr. Wang, are you alright? Let me take you to the hospital,” she said anxiously.

“It’s nothing, just a minor wound. No need for the hospital, I’ll just buy some medicine and patch it up,” he replied.

“That won’t do. You’re bleeding so much—you should see a doctor,” she insisted.

“Really, it’s fine. Look, the bleeding’s already stopped,” Wang Kun said.

His physical constitution ensured that even if injured, wounds healed quickly. If he hadn’t purposely allowed himself to be hurt, a little knife wouldn’t have harmed him at all.

Li Xin Xin followed his gaze to his arm; the gash was already closing and no longer bleeding.

“See? I said it was nothing,” Wang Kun reassured her.

Li Xin Xin finally breathed a sigh of relief. After all, he had been hurt trying to protect her.

“By the way, Teacher Xin Xin, where do you live? Let me walk you home—it’s dangerous for a young woman,” Wang Kun offered.

Li Xin Xin thought to herself that she’d never encountered such danger before; today was a first.

“I live nearby, not far. But I should take you to get your wound treated first.”

“No need, it’s already healing. Let me walk you home. If those thugs come back to take revenge, that would be trouble,” Wang Kun insisted.

Seeing his resolve, Li Xin Xin no longer protested.
