Chapter 74: Destruction by Violence
Inside the Hive Base, as Wesker took control of the security and defense systems, Claire and her last remaining teammate were soon captured by him. Without Alice’s assistance, even with a certain degree of protagonist’s luck and the help of the Red Queen AI, Claire still failed to turn the tide.
Thus, a day later, all surviving humans around the world—except for the captured Claire and her companion—perished. With only two days left before he was to leave this world, Wang Kun ordered his squad of beautiful death warriors to mobilize fully, commencing a purge of all Umbrella Corporation bases.
The primary target, in fact, was the destruction of the Hive Base, for it was here that the original bodies of all Umbrella’s top executives were stored. Prior to the viral outbreak, every high-ranking member of Umbrella had hidden themselves in the lowest levels of the Hive, entering deep hibernation; those seen outside were merely their clones—clones who themselves were oblivious to their true nature.
Within the Hive, one of Umbrella’s founders, Isaacs, was also awakened at this moment.
“Doctor, the purge plan has been completed,” came the report.
“However, there were some minor incidents before its completion,” Wesker added, detailing the earlier betrayal of Claire and the Red Queen to Isaacs.
Isaacs listened calmly, aware of the precise reason for the Red Queen’s betrayal.
“Prepare to wake the others,” Isaacs ordered upon hearing of the plan’s completion. According to the plan, once the purge succeeded, all Umbrella executives would be roused from hibernation, and the entire world would fall under the corporation’s absolute control.
At that same moment, Alice, Jill, and Ada Wong appeared above the Hive Base. Wasting no time, the trio descended in a flash and infiltrated the Hive.
Loud, piercing alarms blared through the corridors. Wesker and Isaacs, about to proceed with awakening the others, were forced to halt. Surveillance cameras quickly displayed images of Alice, Jill, and their companions.
“Alice?” Wesker exclaimed in shock. “Hasn’t she disappeared for years?”
But even greater astonishment awaited him. Without any apparent movement, Alice utterly destroyed the base’s corridors with an immense, unseen force. Instantly, the surveillance feed cut out. In the next instant, Alice and Jill appeared on different screens, but these too flickered out after only a few breaths.
Within moments, Alice, Jill, and Ada Wong rampaged their way straight to the core of the base, arriving at the control center where Wesker and Isaacs stood.
With a mere thought, a circle of throwing knives whirled from around Alice, flashing out to pierce through both Wesker and Isaacs, who collapsed lifeless to the ground. Meanwhile, Ada and Jill, each wielding a blood-shadow warblade, unleashed furious destruction upon their surroundings.
Roars of explosions echoed through the facility. The hibernation pods stored in this sector shattered, one after another. After a frenzied spree of devastation, the Hive Base could no longer withstand the assault, triggering a cascade of catastrophic reactions.
Soon, the nuclear reactor at the heart of the Hive detonated in a full-scale explosion, unable to endure the onslaught.
A deafening blast erupted. On the surface above, the vast pit that once marked the Hive Base collapsed and exploded, leaving behind an even larger, deeper crater in the ruins of the city.
Elsewhere around the globe, Umbrella’s other bases suffered similarly catastrophic destruction at the exact same moment.
From start to finish, no more than two hours passed; in that brief span, nearly all Umbrella Corporation facilities worldwide were systematically and utterly obliterated.
It must be understood that Wang Kun’s death maidens now possessed planetary-level power, some even at the ninth tier of multi-domain mastery—such overwhelming might could truly be described as earth-shattering. Faced with such formidable warriors, Umbrella’s global strongholds stood no chance against their rampage.
Once all was settled, Wang Kun gathered his death maidens, activated the communication system, and vanished from this desolate world.
