Chapter 110: It Is Time for Me, Louis VI, the God of Magic Warfare, to Display My Might!
After the death of Queen Francesca, the king gradually became aware of the existence of the wizards.
The flames of vengeance ignited within the heart of the great monarch of the United Sorendo Kingdom. He patiently concealed his strength, preparing to unleash the thunderous wrath of Sorendo upon those wizards.
Gradually, the nations began to hold frequent joint military exercises of a special nature.
The king’s calculated moves instilled a growing sense of dread among the wizards.
At the same time, the wizarding elite felt profound humiliation and fury.
The Muggles were equally shaken. The wizards’ destructive power was astonishing—not only did their decapitation strikes fail to achieve their goals, but many of their “military drills” missed targets entirely or even resulted in frequent friendly fire incidents.
Slowly, the great noble families and ruling classes of the Muggle world learned of the wizards’ existence.
The common folk believed these were merely military drills or colonial wars conducted by the united Sorendo nations, but the leaders knew who their true enemy was this time.
The Muggles soon realized they were simply unable to deal with these elusive wizards.
Support from the Holy Court alone was insufficient; they were no match for the wizards.
Meanwhile, the wizards discovered that Muggles were no longer the naive beings they once were. The overwhelming artillery barrages during the drills meant that if even one shell struck a hidden realm, the cost would be immeasurable.
Tensions escalated. Yet, due to the presence of a newly married queen of modest renown, this conflict between wizards and Muggles began to take on a strange and unpredictable course.
An interesting phenomenon emerged: over the past decade, every Muggle official who opposed the queen inexplicably fell ill with strange diseases or suddenly vanished without a trace.
On the wizarding side, anyone dissatisfied with Queen Delphinia found their whereabouts and residences known to the Muggle sharpshooters.
Often, during clashes between the Sorendo kingdom and other nations, their armies mistakenly trespassed into the secret domains of disgruntled wizards. Or during military exercises, artillery would unexpectedly level a wizard’s secret realm—so precisely it seemed as if coordinates were being given in real time.
Clearly, Her Majesty Queen Delphinia was playing double agent, stoking flames on both sides.
The disputes intensified. The wizards began to control other kingdoms, pressuring Sorendo and even initiating warfare. Many kingdoms that once participated in joint exercises with Sorendo now stood opposed to it.
However, since Sorendo no longer had any opposition to the queen, and with its strong industrial base backed by the Queen and some wizards, it became a terrifying force.
This war ultimately became the rise of the mighty Sorendo Empire. In its course, many wizard duchies that secretly supported various Muggle kingdoms against Sorendo were unmasked.
The iron tide swept into wizard territories, with the only sanctuary being the legendary “Holy Oak” mistakenly believed by kings and ministers to be merely a “Mage Academy.”
In the end, the war gradually subsided under the mediation of the new queen and the high council of the magical assembly, preventing it from erupting into a dreadful world war—the rigid magical assembly had, at last, done something right.
The other wizards breathed a silent sigh of relief. Though they often toyed with Muggles, even a loss rate of one to a hundred was unsustainable. Training a wizard took over a decade, while a Muggle could threaten a wizard after only months of training. Continuing on this path seemed to be heading toward an unavoidable direct confrontation.
The Muggles also relaxed somewhat—those wizards were like unparalleled super agents and spies. Even with help from the true magicians summoned by the queen, prolonged conflict would shatter society and the economy.
Both sides suffered significant losses, but the new queen who continuously fanned the flames on both sides reaped the greatest benefit: over the past decade, all opposition to her, whether wizard or Muggle, had vanished.
Only her supporters remained.
She firmly secured her position as the leader of both Muggles and wizards. Even the feared Red and White Queen bowed to her authority.
The world had enjoyed years of relative peace, but Queen Delphinia seemed not to favor tranquility.
During the most recent Sorendo United Kingdom military parade, the kingdom unveiled the latest armaments of the industrial age. The queen deliberately invited several high-ranking officials from the Ministry of Magic to witness the display.
In just a decade, the Muggle kingdoms’ military power had transformed utterly.
This left an indelible impression on the many conservative elders of the Ministry and stirred the radical faction of wizards.
No one wished for war, yet the wizards wanted to respond in kind—after all, the king’s laughter had been far too joyous.
Therefore, after the parade, the wizards planned to turn the tide and show those weak and ignorant Muggles that their iron puppets were utterly useless.
They intended to demonstrate the true terror of the wizards.
Thus, the great wizarding families made a wager with the king.
At this moment, lines of narration appeared before Louis’s eyes.
In this wager, the king promised that if the Ministry of Magic won, the Sorendo Parliament building would become Ministry property—the Ministry would establish its offices there. Moreover, the kingdom’s leadership would thereafter refrain from interfering in any wizard affairs within Sorendo.
The implications were clear: if the wizards won, the Muggle kingdom’s governance would fall under their influence; Muggle power would be balanced or curtailed.
If the wizards lost, the Ministry would dispatch true wizards to the royal court to serve and teach magic to the royals. Additionally, Muggle nobles would gain access to magical academies—the kingdom would address its weaknesses.
This wager risked the very lifelines of both sides—and in generous quantities.
To prevent the wager from escalating into war, both parties agreed to keep it a small-scale affair.
During negotiations, Mr. Archie of the Bellief family worked diligently for his own benefit—and succeeded.
The “Olympics” would be hosted at the “Stodge Dragon Coliseum,” a venue with the most complete facilities. This branch coliseum in the English city would henceforth openly reveal its true wonders to the Muggles.
At this point, the narration reappeared before Louis.
But who would have thought that the person most eager for Muggles to lose in this wager was none other than Queen Delphinia herself... Yet if the Muggles truly won, the king would be delighted—and so would Comrade Little Del.
And Louis did not yet know that this would be a battle of “True vs. Fake Gundam,” and he had to decide...
Option A: “I bet on the Muggles!”
Note: “How could I miss out on this? I, Louis VI, the war god and magic enthusiast, shall take the stage!
Goal: Find a way to bring about a satisfactory outcome for the Muggles.
Plan 1: Participate as a human, piloting the ‘Son of Lant,’ and defeat the fearsome dragon slayer ‘Gundam’—even the queen herself is uncertain if the latest weapon designed by Muggle Yodel engineers, the ‘Son of Lant,’ can truly handle the dragon slayer.
Plan 2: Assist the Muggles in strategizing wisely, preventing the wizards from causing sabotage, allowing the ‘Son of Lant’ to unleash its true power.”
Reading this, Louis frowned. “What is this ‘Son of Lant’? A nickname for the latest tank? Anyway, the first plan seems more straightforward.”
Louis then examined the rewards.
Success rewards:
1. Random attribute +15 (Note: This wager affects the fate lines of three wishers.)
2. Position as court wizard and court scholar *1;
3. Imperial tutor *1 (Who knows what they prefer to teach...);
4. Reputation +1000 among the Knights of the Moon Sanctuary;
5. Maximum reputation with the great inventor Mr. Lant;
6. Pilot’s license for the Destroyer ‘Son of Lant’ *1;
Failure consequences:
1. Being crushed by Gundam and the wizards *1;
2. The sacrificial explosion of the ‘Son of Lant’ *1;
3. Destruction of the Ministry of Magic *1;
4. Return of the extremists to control the Ministry *1;
5. The world’s first great war *1;
6. A more terrifying queen *1;
Explanation: Although human society has advanced enough to bring down the Holy Oak, wizards retain terrifying, bug-like abilities to dismantle human social structures. Once war begins, the outcome is unpredictable... The queen who once sided with the Muggles may be undecided this time—her thoughts might be even more fearsome than her ‘husband’s.’
Option B: “I bet on the wizards!”
Goal: Find a way to bring about a satisfactory outcome for the wizards.
Plan: Eliminate the terrifying dragon slayer ‘Gundam’ prepared by the wizards ahead of time, then, amidst their shock, take the field in its place. Afterwards, destroy the ‘Son of Lant.’
Success rewards:
1. Random attribute +15 (Note: This wager affects the fate lines of three wishers.)
2. Director of the Ministry of Magic’s Secret Division *1;
3. Admiration of the Red Queen *1;
4. Reputation +1000 with the Queen of Hearts family;
5. Maximum worship from the Goron tribe;
6. Attention of a true dragon;
Possible failure outcomes:
1. Being crushed by Gundam *1 (failure to kill Gundam);
2. Turned into minced meat by artillery *1;
3. Tears from Osikris and others *?;
4. Regency of Sorendo’s ‘Lufield’/‘Taris’/‘???’ *1;
5. Prince consort ‘Helen’ of the Arelida Duchy: ‘Lufield’/‘Taris’ *1;
It seemed that if Louis died, either ‘Lufield’ or ‘Taris,’ two male protagonists from the original world, might marry Helen or Osikris.
Louis ignored the failure consequences, thinking, “Lufield and Taris, you two backups, keep dreaming!”
Then, glancing at the rewards for both options, he thought to himself: [I bet on both Muggles and wizards.]
“???”
