Chapter Sixty-One: What Exactly Is "mememe"?

"Woo woo woo, I’ll never be friends with you again…”

Two little delinquents casually cast a spell to bind Helen’s hands and feet. Powerless in her current state, her mouth was also sealed shut. They braced themselves and carefully moved her into a good spot, intending to make her watch every last detail of what was to come. Amid Helen’s muffled sobbing, they explained, “Miss Lilith ordered this, Helen. Don’t blame us. Stop making a fuss, or the boss will be mad…”

Perhaps fearing Helen would seek revenge later, one of the little foxes quietly offered this explanation.

On the other side, three fox girls saw the young wizard seemingly reaching for something, and immediately three spells shot out toward him.

Then, in a bewildered haze, one fox girl found herself tied up with several red cords—an embarrassing sight indeed, and all from her own spell just moments earlier.

The other two foxes, shrieking, grabbed at their witch skirts as they were hoisted upside down, as if someone had picked them up by their feet. Amidst the chaos, their high heels were sent flying—also courtesy of the spells they’d just flung at Louis.

Meanwhile, a leather belt whipped through the air, snapping twice before landing on the three foxes’ behinds. One of them wailed in pain at the first stroke, and after three more, all three began to cry in chorus.

Seeing this spectacle, Lilith and the others turned, dumbfounded, to Louis, who was now smiling broadly as he withdrew six porcelain voodoo dolls from his coat and calmly lined them up on the table.

Helen’s eyes widened in horror, and she wailed helplessly behind her gag.

A thunderous realization struck Lilith—“The Osychris Mirror!” Was this the spell that young wizard had just ‘miscast’ on himself? How could he possibly know such advanced magic? Any witch who could wield this was recognized as a master of magic mirrors. And if he had a handful of voodoo dolls…

Lilith’s gaze snapped to the dolls on the desk. She darted toward the table, intent on smashing them, but halfway there, Louis grabbed her by the collar and lifted her like a kitten, suspending her midair.

Lilith landed on the sofa with a scream, only to have a large hand seize both her wrists and hang her up once more. She was then pressed face-down on the sofa back and smacked hard twice, making her howl and struggle furiously, “I’ll kill you! I’ll kill you!”

One of the remaining foxes, refusing to believe her eyes, tried to save her big sister and cast a spell at Louis, who was searching for a flyswatter. Instantly, the spell rebounded, and she began to shake her hips uncontrollably and dance, tears streaming down her face.

“Don’t worry, it’ll be your turn soon,” Louis said with a cheerful glance at the last two. He picked up the flyswatter.

Watching their sister bawl in agony, the two foxes stood stunned—What’s happening? Why isn’t Big Sis fighting back? She can cast spells without a wand! Could she… actually like being punished?

“Oh? Loan-sharking in the academy (‘I’ll kill you!’), extorting young professors! (‘Ah! Just you wait, if you dare treat me like this, I’ll…’), bullying younger students and forcing them to strip-dance! (‘Waaah, I’ll kill you!’). Did you all think no one in the academy could control you? (‘No more, please, it hurts, waaah…’)”

“Go open the door! Now! Ahhh, just you wait, I’ll kill you!” Lilith, sprawled on the sofa, sobbed and screamed, “That’s the Osychris Mirror! Go get help!”

Zinnia and her companion felt their heads spin. Only then did they understand what magic Louis had used. The only way to counter it was hand-to-hand combat—Yet when they glanced over at the nearly two-meter-tall berserker, with arms thicker than their legs and capable of lifting their sister with one hand, their souls nearly fled their bodies. Wiping away cold sweat, they grabbed their wands and ran for the door, trying desperately to unlock it.

But no matter how many times they chanted the unlocking spell, the door remained firmly shut. Panic rising, they beat on the walls, hoping someone outside would hear them.

Unfortunately, Lilith had already cleared the entire floor.

At that moment, an invisible force seized their legs and dragged them back into the hall. Turning to look, their jaws dropped in terror—the wizard was grinning wickedly, brandishing the flyswatter as if it were a wand and unleashing two spells at once.

The leather belt Zinnia often used to hit others soared into the air, cracked ominously, and swooped down on the two girls. As soon as they were dragged back, they received a hard smack—clearly, this wielder was far more skilled than Zinnia. Their tails bristled with pain as they cried and scrambled toward the door.

But the spell seemed endless; every time they reached the door, they were dragged back and spanked again. The only way to avoid punishment was to run for the exit, but each attempt ended the same. After several rounds, the carpet was shredded by their desperate clawing, and the belt’s severity only increased.

On the other side, Lilith was kicking wildly, her high heels long since flung away.

“You said it yourself—even if you screamed until your voice broke, no one would come today.”

“No more, please, I beg you, I was wrong… woo woo woo…”

Louis finally let go of her and nodded toward the maid outfit nearby, grinning. “Miss Lilith, you brought this outfit yourself. Put it on.”

“You… you fiend! Do you have any idea who you’ve provoked? Woo woo… My big sister is Cherrybell! Please, no more, no more…” Lilith had abandoned all pretense of composure, begging for mercy.

Louis laughed, setting down his things. Imitating the fox girls’ earlier style, he swayed to the gramophone’s music, dancing a tap routine—far better than theirs.

Then he turned slowly, beaming at the desk—where Lilith, who had just been pleading, now leapt onto the table like a little fox and smashed the dolls to pieces. She burst into mad laughter. “Hahaha, fool!”

As the last doll shattered, Lilith seized her wand and pointed it fiercely at Louis. “Dance, now—huh? Huh??”

To her astonishment, she began to twist her waist and tail, breaking into a strange dance.

She looked up in confusion, only to see Louis, smiling again, calmly pulling out another six porcelain dolls from his coat and lining them up on the table.

Despair washed over Lilith. Worse, the maid outfit on the floor suddenly flew up and landed over her head.

“No, please, don’t make me wear this, I beg you… Helen’s watching, please, don’t make me wear it…” The boss pleaded in tears.

“If you want me to let you go, that’s possible—just withstand a few of my most dreadful spells: ‘Haunted by Malice,’ ‘Torture of the Viscera,’ ‘Wristbone Heart Extraction’… hahaha!”

“Skinning and Dismemberment—salalala—hahaha!”

At the recitation of these curses, the fox girls’ souls nearly fled—they could tell these were genuine black spells, and this mysterious office investigator truly knew them. They could feel the profound depth of his power. He wielded these spells with such mastery that he could recite them without casting, leaving the threat hanging in the air.

In the end, Helen watched helplessly as her bosses lined up in a row, crying and dancing.

“That’s right, good girls—don’t you all love dancing? (Sob, please, stop, it hurts so much…) Miss Pirate on the left, Miss Maid in the center, Miss Detective on the right… Line up, how can you be so clumsy? (Sobs) Miss Lilith Maid should be in the middle.”

“Anyone heard of ‘phut hon’ or ‘mememe’?” (“What’s MEMEME?” one little fox asked through tears.)

“Oh, let me teach you—twist your waist (sob), wag your tail, half-squat, twist your hips one-two-three, wag your tail—very nice…”

At this moment, all the roles had reversed.

A sneaky little cat, cloaked in invisibility, tried to crawl to the balcony, but before she got there, her tail was grabbed.

“Hm?”

“Woo woo, Louis, I was wrong, they really weren’t here to deal with you, really.”

“Go sit on the sofa and watch your bosses perform. Otherwise, their efforts are wasted. Bosses, give your little underling a good show, understood? (Please, no more, ouch!) Did you hear me?”

“Yes—yes… woo woo woo…”

“Louder!”

In unison: “We hear you!”

The bosses danced and begged, tears streaming down their faces, while Helen, mouth agape in disbelief, watched her superiors perform one after another.

At that moment, as they met the gaze of the underling they always bullied—now filled with curiosity—their heads spun with dizziness.

Later, Louis pulled Zinnia, the most notorious bully in the academy, out of the dance line and set her atop the office’s circus unicycle, making her juggle balls while sobbing.

She was surprisingly suited for riding a tricycle…

The others joined in as well.

Five bosses sang and danced in the center while one cycled around them, tossing balls.

They looked just like a troop of monkeys…

Watching their performance, the little underling finally couldn’t help but burst out laughing.
