Chapter 124: Your Majesty, Behold My Mighty Muscles
Seeing this person, Archie’s mind buzzed—damn it, what a coincidence! No wonder his calls went unanswered just moments ago! They were clearly staking them out on purpose! Caught red-handed!
At that moment, Louie had just emerged from the fireplace. He saw a beautiful child, looking like a porcelain doll, playing at a table in the distance. The child was incredibly conspicuous—more so than any of the adults—because he was wearing a "dragon toy suit."
When the child saw Louie and his group suddenly pop out of the fireplace, he was so startled that he lost his footing and tumbled off the table. The nannies napping nearby jolted awake, but it was too late.
Louie took a slight half-step forward and caught the child—the distance of over ten meters between them seemed to vanish within that single stride. None of the people in the hall seemed to notice this, except for Ying Ling and the nannies, who gaped with their jaws dropped as if they had seen a ghost. Ying Ling hadn't even sensed any magical fluctuations; the entire process was silent, like a phantom. If a Night-Mare had been there, they would have sworn on their life that this was one of their own.
"What kind of magic is this? No, no, no—this is a Night-Mare technique! It must be!"
Louie and the child, one large and one small, stared at each other for a long time. Seeing the child’s little eyes darting about, Louie couldn't help but chuckle. He performed a few magic tricks and then reached out into thin air; a handful of fresh, warm milk candies vanished from the kitchen of the Royal Hotel, twenty kilometers away, and appeared in his hand. After some sleight of hand, the child was munching on candy and giggling, and Louie was laughing along.
He sized the child up, guessing him to be about five or six, though he looked more like a three or four-year-old, as if his development were slower than that of a normal human child. There were two tiny horns on his head. What struck Louie as particularly strange was that the child felt incredibly familiar—bearing a slight resemblance to both Helen and Occisclis. Louie couldn't help but reach out and give him a quick pat—a boy. The little boy and Louie locked eyes and both burst into laughter.
"I had a feeling this kid looked like one of my brothers-in-law. Sure enough."
Only then did the nearby nannies recover, rushing over in a panic to take the child, offering profuse thanks. As soon as the child was taken, he let out a loud wail.
Louie looked up at the nobles and knights sitting nearby. These knights possessed strength levels of 20+, capable of cleaving a mountain troll in half with an axe. They were not much weaker than Aaron. They wore runic-inscribed mithril armor underneath—nearly immune to magic—and were armed with both cold weapons and firearms. Their willpower was immense, their auras sharp; they were either survivors of mountains of corpses or products of specialized training—true warriors who could break through any illusion with a surge of rage. They were the type of warriors wizards feared most: nearly uncontrollable, and lethal at close range. If they were in the gladiatorial arena, they could defeat adventure parties led by wizards, or even challenge a dragon. Together, these five or six men could have sliced Aaron to pieces.
The knights only just noticed Louie, pausing in astonishment as if they had seen a ghost, wondering when this man had slipped from the fireplace to their side. Had they not heard of this group earlier, they would have opened fire. The knights were stunned, but the middle-aged man sitting at the table simply nodded faintly at Louie.
Louie smiled at the "beautiful woman" sitting at the table, offering a slight, gentlemanly noble bow in response. Then, his eyes flickered.
"An 'Unnamed'? There’s someone in this world who knows how to turn themselves into an 'Unnamed'? Impressive, quite ruthless to oneself." Louie felt a tinge of surprise.
[An Unnamed: When a person's name gradually fades from the world, no targeted spell can take effect on them, and they possess the means to make themselves unprognosticatable, imperceptible, and un-lockable.]
[In legends, the Unnamed and the Faceless are one and the same.]
As Louie realized the person's condition, the narration appeared.
[Unnamed]
[Magic: ????]
[Louie had actually mistaken this person for a woman just now.]
[Perhaps because they look a bit like Occisclis? Hence appearing too handsome?]
[But in fact, that doesn't seem to be the case, as this person’s features are angular and possess a very masculine aura.]
The middle-aged man, after sizing Louie up, frowned slightly, looking somewhat surprised. By now, Archie had trotted over to the middle-aged man and started to kneel, but stood back up after a gesture from the man. Ying Ling and the others blinked; they didn't seem to recognize this person. They were puzzled by Archie's behavior. A Muggle with no magic—why be afraid of him?
"What a coincidence," Archie said, wiping his sweat. "What brings you here today?"
The man did not answer Archie, simply setting down what was in his hand and looking toward the approaching Louie.
"So you are the 'ace pilot' little Archie found?" The Unnamed looked at Louie, arched a handsome brow, and said softly, "Indeed, quite good."
[You realize you’ve encountered a 'true client'.]
[You decide...]
[a. "You flatter me..." Boldly accept the compliment.]
[b. State that you are not an ace pilot.]
[c. Show her your big mus...cles.]
Louie took off his felt hat, bowed slightly, and said, "You flatter me."
[Magic +1]
"However," Louie shifted the tone, "I'm only here to test drive the vehicle today—I haven't seen this thing yet, so I’m here for a trial run. If I handle it well, I'll take it to the field when the time comes."
[Magic +1]
The Unnamed’s willow-like brows arched slightly as she asked, "And if you don't handle it well?"
"Then I won't drive it." Louie said, flexing his arm and raising a fist. The muscles on his arm nearly tore through his shirt.
[Magic +1]
[Experience +50]
The Unnamed was momentarily stunned, then nodded faintly. She couldn't help but think of that boy, 'Augusta.' Young people these days were truly becoming more and more extraordinary.
"Your Majesty Iger, do you think this will work?" Archie asked cautiously. "We can't let those great noble wizard families be too arrogant, can we?"
"Approved."
Archie was overjoyed, hurriedly leading Louie and the others in a bow before backing away and leaving. Once they passed the corner, Archie finally let out a sigh of relief. Lilith curiously whispered to her sister, "Who was that?"
"Iger... he is the King of the Muggles." Ying Ling lit a cigarette calmly. "No wonder he looks a bit like Occisclis."
In Ying Ling’s eyes, this person looked nothing like Francesco. He was quite masculine. Yet, she couldn't understand why Archie feared this king—Archie was a 'Stogg,' a member of the dragon clan! A man recognized by dragons. Archie raised and managed a clan of dragons—the Stogg clan! The Stoggs of the past called their ancestors 'Stogg,' but the modern Stoggs called Archie 'Boss.' And this boss had gambled with his life to negotiate that position. There were few things in this world that could make Archie afraid. The ancient Stoggs were one, Louie was another, and this Muggle king seemed to be a third—yet in front of all three, Archie negotiated while trembling. He would probably even negotiate with his own master—and tell the master, "The two of us are bound to get rich!"
"Louie! We can play for bigger stakes now!" Archie put away his handkerchief, looking excited. "Our 'business' (the matter of the Son of Lant) has gone from smuggling (doing it in secret) to royal-permitted, tax-free operation (doing it openly)! I told you, the two of us together are bound to get rich!"
"En." Louie touched his chin and nodded.
'Oddly enough, the random attribute added to Magic... no need to say more, we should get closer in the future—of the three, only when my actions affect your destiny trajectory do I get magic added, which means out of the three, you're the one with the most actual business!'
'Wait? Doesn't that mean my little mother-in-law is here too?' Louie became interested. 'I should definitely go and pay my respects; otherwise, wouldn't it be rude?'
