A Few Words on Publication

I got the notice today: the book missed the featured promotion, and tomorrow it goes live.

First of all, thank you all for your steadfast support. For someone like me, whose books have often struggled, being able to achieve what I have now already feels more than good enough.

I will spare you the pitiful sob story. It is already pitiful enough, and if I kept milking it, even I would not know how to keep writing.

As for the future update schedule: tomorrow’s baseline will be ten thousand words. The initial target is five hundred first-day subscriptions; once that target is reached, I will add one more chapter, and for every additional hundred after that, I will add another.

As for rewards, give what you feel like giving! One extra chapter for every ten thousand in accumulated rewards. And if there are alliance leaders or the like, those will certainly come with extra updates as well.

Now let me say a few words about the book itself:

This is my first time writing fan fiction, so I do not have much experience. As for some of the plot’s rough spots and the slower pacing later on, I will do my best to adjust them quickly after the book goes premium.

I have read all the suggestions many of you have offered. The good ones, I will take to heart, and I will strive to keep bringing you the joy of reading in the chapters ahead.

Regarding the issue most often mentioned in this book, the wildly fluctuating combat power, I will explain that here as well. The power system in Pirate King is actually quite complete.

But everyone has their own measuring stick. The main problem arises when comparing characters of the same tier and those who do not often get much screen time, which makes their strength seem inconsistent.

I think everyone has their own view on this, so I will not go into too much detail here. As for the later plot, it still will not stray from the original work; any original story lines will still develop within the framework of the source material.

I will do my best to write a fan fiction that both Pirate King fans and non-fans can enjoy!
