He Tiantian had been watching the direction in which Lin Feng had departed with constant concern; seeing him return, she breathed a sigh of relief.

Observing that both his hands were occupied, she hurried forward to help him carry the load, specifically taking the heavier clay from him.

As she carried the clay back to the shelter, He Tiantian asked, "Lin Feng, this houttuynia is very lush. There must be fresh water nearby, right?"

Lin Feng understood her implication and explained directly, "Yes, there is fresh water there. I didn't bring any back because drinking raw water from the wild can lead to parasitic infections."

"I gathered this clay specifically to make pots and bowls. We can fire them in the hearth and use them to boil water before drinking."

He Tiantian nodded with a smile, "I see. I was wondering why you didn't bring any water back and instead chose to haul such a heavy, clunky lump of dirt."

"Well," Lin Feng said, "let's eat some houttuynia to stave off hunger, and then we’ll craft the bowls and pots."

"Alright!" He Tiantian replied.

The two began to eat the houttuynia. He Tiantian was not from the Southwest and was eating it for the first time. It was difficult to swallow at first, but for the sake of survival, she overcame her reluctance, determined not to waste any.

Shortly after they finished eating and had fashioned four bowls and one large pot from the clay, a cry for help rang out from nearby: "Help! Help me..."

It was Cheng Xiangyu’s voice. Looking up, they saw her running toward them with all her might. In the dim night light, it was clear she looked different from when she had left. Her hair was a tangled mess, resembling a bird's nest, and her blue evening gown was torn, revealing skin as white as snow—a sight that was strikingly conspicuous even in the darkness.

Cheng Xiangyu glanced at Lin Feng, finding it difficult to ask him for help, so she turned to He Tiantian instead: "Save me, please save me! I know I was wrong. Yuan Shuang has turned evil; I shouldn't have ignored your warnings..."

He Tiantian turned to Lin Feng and said, "Please, save her."

Lin Feng was speechless. He hadn't expected that even after Cheng Xiangyu had mocked her earlier, she would still want to save her. He scoffed, "I won't! She repaid kindness with spite, lacks judgment, and is a useless person who can't do anything. Saving her will only make our survival on this deserted island much harder."

He Tiantian retorted, "Lin Feng, how can you just stand by and watch someone die? I am so disappointed in you."

With that, she stood up, ran over, and pulled Cheng Xiangyu back with her. Privately, she sighed, thinking that Lin Feng truly lacked social grace; he had a rare opportunity to curry favor with someone of Cheng Xiangyu’s social standing, yet he didn't know how to treasure it. To her, no matter the danger, gaining Cheng Xiangyu's favor was worth the risk.

Just then, a tall, burly figure appeared not far behind them—Yuan Shuang had caught up. Seeing this, Lin Feng pursed his lips. While he considered Cheng Xiangyu a burden, He Tiantian was useful and was also the best friend of Qin Meng, so he couldn't just ignore the situation. He dashed toward them.

Seeing Lin Feng, Yuan Shuang realized he was no match for him and, with a resentful snort, turned and fled. Lin Feng, unwilling to risk his life pursuing him through the night, let it go.

"Thank you for putting aside the past to save me. I was wrong; I shouldn't have ignored your advice. Please forgive me! My name is Cheng Xiangyu, from the Cheng family of Haicheng. If we can get back, I will surely reward you well."

Cheng Xiangyu thanked He Tiantian. He Tiantian waved her hand dismissively, saying, "I’m He Tiantian. Don't mention it."

Inside, however, she was ecstatic. She had known Cheng Xiangyu was someone of importance, but she hadn't realized she was from the prestigious Cheng family of Haicheng. She was going to strike it rich! She glanced at Lin Feng, feeling even more disappointed in him; he had known who Cheng Xiangyu was and yet had still hesitated to save her—he deserved to be poor for the rest of his life. He was truly as useless as they come.

Cheng Xiangyu turned to look at Lin Feng, wanting to thank him, but she started to speak several times and failed to get the words out. Lin Feng, having no interest in her gratitude, turned and headed back to the shelter, with He Tiantian following close behind.

"Ah!"

After a few steps, Cheng Xiangyu let out a pained cry and collapsed to the ground.

"What's wrong?" He Tiantian asked, turning back with concern.

Cheng Xiangyu looked at her fair calves and said, "I accidentally cut my feet while running, and I think I sprained my ankle. It didn't hurt while I was running, but now it's unbearable."

He Tiantian followed her gaze and saw long, deep lacerations on her calves that were still bleeding. She shrieked in terror, "Oh my god! Such a long wound! What are we going to do? This is a deserted island; there are no antibiotics. If it gets infected, people die!"

She thought to herself: if Cheng Xiangyu dies, how am I supposed to use her to climb the social ladder and become successful?

"What?" Cheng Xiangyu shrieked in fear upon hearing this. She regretted even more not listening to He Tiantian earlier, not believing that Yuan Shuang had turned into a predatory wolf rather than the obedient bodyguard she had known.

He Tiantian turned to Lin Feng, "You’ve studied medicine; you should know how to stop the bleeding and treat the wound, right?"

Lin Feng remained silent. Even though he was a doctor and couldn't bear to let someone die, he didn't want to save someone like Cheng Xiangyu.

He Tiantian urged him, "Lin Feng, I know there are misunderstandings between you two, but she knows she was wrong. Please, just save her." She thought to herself, *How can you be so stupid? Don't you realize the massive benefits we could get from saving someone of her status?*

Cheng Xiangyu bit her lip gently and said, "Lin Feng, I’m sorry. I was wrong. I shouldn't have asked Yuan Shuang to hit you. From now on, I will listen to everything you say and never throw a temper tantrum again."

Both women looked at Lin Feng expectantly.

Lin Feng gazed at their earnest expressions and found it truly difficult to refuse. "Cheng Xiangyu, do you really mean that you will listen to me from now on? Will you do whatever I tell you to do?"

Cheng Xiangyu hesitated for a moment before nodding, "Yes!"

In her heart, she cursed Lin Feng, thinking he was no better than Yuan Shuang—a dirty pervert just looking to sleep with her. If he actually tried to force that, she would rather die than submit.

"I hope you keep your word!" Lin Feng warned before stepping forward and crouching in front of her.

Cheng Xiangyu stared at his broad back, hesitating for a long time before climbing on. Lin Feng couldn't help but scoff, "Your wound is still bleeding, what are you being so coy for?"

Only then did Cheng Xiangyu climb onto his back. Immediately, Lin Feng felt his entire back enveloped by softness, which felt quite comfortable. He reached back to steady her, his hands wrapping around her thighs. Because her evening gown was torn, his hands touched her skin directly, and the sensation was indescribably wonderful.

"Don't do that!" Cheng Xiangyu felt his hands and blushed, unable to help but let out a shy, indignant protest.

"Oh!" Lin Feng, feeling a bit embarrassed, moved his hands higher.

However, he ended up grabbing another part of her—large, round, and firm. It felt even better.

"Ah! Where are you putting your hands!" Cheng Xiangyu shrieked in embarrassment.

Lin Feng was speechless, "I can't hold you here, and I can't hold you there—how am I supposed to carry you? If you're so bothered, you can get down and walk yourself."

Cheng Xiangyu quickly clung to him, "No, I'm sorry! I won't cause trouble anymore." She knew she couldn't walk, and He Tiantian, being a petite girl, couldn't carry her. She had no choice but to let Lin Feng carry her.

Seeing that she had stopped acting up, Lin Feng carried her into the treehouse and set her down in front of the fire.

He Tiantian asked curiously, "Lin Feng, without any medicine, how are you going to stop the bleeding and treat her wound?"

Cheng Xiangyu, hearing this, looked over with equal curiosity.

Lin Feng looked at the fire and gave a faint smile, "Heh, it’s quite simple!"
