Chapter Thirty-Three: Discovery of the Cave

He spat a mouthful of blood, his face turning deathly pale.

“Perhaps you think you can kill me.”

He struck again, and cracks appeared on the blade of another man's knife, then it was split in two. Half of the blade flew off, and Shen An swiftly reached out, grabbing it with his left hand before tossing it aside.

Swish!

The blade embedded itself in the body of a man just about to charge. He hadn’t even reached the front line when he saw a knife sticking out of his abdomen.

“Unfortunately, you know nothing about true strength.”

He knocked one aside and wounded another. The man before him now looked at him in terror.

Shen An swung the back of his knife casually.

The man was about to feel relieved. Seeing Shen An approach with the knife's blunt edge, he thought his opponent had shown mercy and did not intend to kill him.

But unexpectedly, the knife's back slid down from his shoulder, and the sound of the blade’s tip hitting the ground followed.

Shen An let out a faint chuckle.

“You probably think the back of a blade can't kill.”

He seemed to be conducting an experiment.

“I only want you to understand true strength.”

For a moment, none could withstand a single exchange with Shen An.

He was too formidable.

With every swing, his blade felled another. The power was terrifying, and his speed even more so.

Chen Ziliang, from a distance, was so frightened he dared not approach. He watched as one after another fell before Shen An.

His opponent’s blade technique, speed, strength—even a mere glance from him—seemed enough to shatter one’s courage.

This feeling, he had only ever sensed in Lei Jin’s master.

He kept retreating.

Just then, Shen An’s senses tingled. Suddenly, he saw flames rising in the distance.

The fire that had disappeared now suddenly reignited elsewhere.

The abrupt scene startled him.

He glanced at the fleeing Chen Ziliang and abandoned his pursuit. Then he saw Bai Weiwei looking over as well; she seemed to have noticed something strange.

Shen An gazed toward the village. His expression instantly darkened.

“Hahaha! My power has finally grown stronger. Fire! I can control even more potent flames. No longer do I fear the backlash from energy!”

Wang Yuan now resembled a man made of fire.

At the last moment, under the intense heat, he broke through his limits.

His power erupted, and within a hundred meters, flames blazed fiercely.

House after house was engulfed.

A gust of wind swept by, and the flames surged, fire spreading in all directions.

Wang Yuan watched the chaos, especially noticing a powerful figure rapidly approaching. He immediately began to leave.

Boom!

In the air, a tremendous force caused the surroundings to tremble. Shen An landed on the ground.

The scorching aura remained intimidating.

Shen An felt the power contained within the air.

“Wang... Yuan.”

His gaze was icy. In his senses, that figure was running at full speed.

He no longer bothered with him, because in the village, cries of anguish began to rise.

Some were caught by the flames, swallowed in an instant, reduced to ashes in the blink of an eye.

This fire was far more ferocious than ordinary flames.

Shen An wrapped himself in energy, quickly stepping into a house. He saw someone hiding in a water vat—two children trembling inside.

He hurriedly lifted the vat and, in a flash, appeared outside.

Then, Shen An plunged back into the flames, rescuing a middle-aged man from within.

“Where’s Zhouzhou?”

He had just rescued a middle-aged man.

Seeing him unharmed, Shen An immediately asked, his face grave.

“She couldn’t sleep and said she’d go for a walk. I haven’t seen her,” He An replied anxiously.

He recognized Shen An, never expecting the man before him to be like a celestial descending, utterly unafraid of the burning flames.

“Save my daughter, please, save my daughter!”

Shen An said nothing; his senses kept searching.

He scoured all around but found no trace of He Zhouzhou.

Screams echoed again from afar.

Shen An sighed. He plunged into the sea of fire, rescuing people.

One by one, villagers were pulled from the flames.

Some suffered burns, others had already perished.

But most were saved by Shen An.

For a while, cries filled the entire village.

Bai Weiwei had arrived, seeing Shen An’s grim face, but said nothing.

“Why are you standing there? Help! Get the wounded to the hospital—quick!”

Shen An barked at Bai Weiwei immediately.

She uttered not a word in protest, hurrying to organize the rescue.

These villagers were innocent. No one expected the incident to endanger the village; now it was ablaze.

Bai Weiwei did not know the cause, assuming the earlier flames had spread.

Shen An never ceased searching.

His senses expanded—one hundred meters, a thousand, ten thousand...

Until he could go no further.

He knew he had reached his limit.

“Hm? There’s a response.”

Shen An sprang into action.

Ignoring the eyes around him, he leapt from the ground.

With a single bound, he covered four or five meters, soared over a courtyard, and vanished from sight.

“My heavens, is he an immortal?”

“He saved me!”

“A divine being descended to rescue us!”

Some villagers even began to kneel.

They had never witnessed such a scene; just moments ago they hadn’t noticed, but after seeing Shen An’s leap, they quickly realized.

Ambulances streamed into Wanyuan Village.

Shen An raced through the night sky.

Suddenly, he halted.

His senses pointed him here.

Ahead was a cave.

Shen An realized his sensing could go no further from this spot.

He had clearly sensed He Zhouzhou’s presence here.

“Could she be inside?”

He was deep within Wanyuan Mountain, a place he had never visited.

“How did He Zhouzhou end up here?”

Confused, Shen An tried to extend his senses but met resistance.

He suddenly thought of his phone.

He quickly took it out and dialed He Zhouzhou’s number.

But when he checked, he found there was no signal.

“No signal at all,” Shen An frowned.

He cautiously walked into the cave.

It was spacious enough for two people to walk side by side.

He advanced slowly, sensing a dangerous aura within.

Inside, the sound of water droplets echoed.

Drip, drip, drip!

He moved forward carefully.

Suddenly, Shen An sensed something and quickly retreated.

At the same time, a terrifying presence surged toward him.

He backed away, focusing his gaze ahead, and saw a massive brown bear charging at him.

The bear appeared exceptionally strong, its eyes mesmerizing.

Its paws and legs were powerful, muscles rippling all over its body, its steps causing the cave to tremble slightly.

“Roar!”
