Chapter 134: You Are Nothing But a Beast!
Afternoon.
Jiangcheng, an old residential complex.
The sky remained a dismal grey. The spring rain showed no signs of stopping; instead, it intensified, accompanied by fierce winds that hammered against the metal roof with a deafening rattle. The streets were deserted, everyone having retreated indoors to escape the downpour.
Luo Shui leaned against the windowsill, her gaze unfocused, lost in thought.
Suddenly, a purple Rolls-Royce Wraith caught her eye as it pulled directly into the complex. The security guard, seeing a vehicle of such caliber, didn't even dare to obstruct it, waving it through immediately.
The display was so high-profile that it was easy to guess: it was the Jiang family, coming for her.
Indeed, the Wraith stopped beneath Luo Shui’s building, and several men stepped out. Leading them was naturally Wu Qiang, Jiang Qi’s butler.
With a lecherous smirk, he knocked on the Jiang family’s door.
"Princess Luo, Young Master Jiang invites you."
Wu Qiang, dressed in a formal black tailcoat and white gloves, gestured outward like a refined gentleman, leading the way for Luo Shui.
Luo Shui was already prepared. Without a word, she picked up her white wedding gown and walked out the door.
Just then, they ran into Jiang Haishan and Qiu Shuixia, who were returning home. Because the rain outside was so heavy, the couple looked somewhat disheveled.
"We have guests? Why not come in and sit for a while?" Qiu Shuixia, kind-hearted by nature, immediately offered an invitation upon seeing Wu Qiang.
"No need, Auntie. I am going out with them. Please tell Qin Mu that I... I probably won't be back to sleep tonight."
Luo Shui’s voice choked with emotion. She thought she had her feelings under control, but the mere mention of him made it impossible to keep her composure.
"What? Luo, dear, in such heavy rain and freezing wind, where are you going?" Qiu Shuixia asked, taking Luo Shui’s hand with genuine concern.
Despite the short time they had spent together, Qiu Shuixia had completely embraced Luo Shui as her daughter-in-law, treating her as her own.
"Auntie, I’ll be fine."
Luo Shui composed herself, offered a light, reassuring smile, and gently pulled away.
Just as she turned to leave, she heard Wu Qiang speak up, his tone brazen and unrestrained.
"That’s a fine-looking woman. I might come back later to have a taste."
The volume was perfectly calibrated to ensure everyone present heard him clearly.
"What do you mean by that!" Jiang Haishan, hearing this, was instantly incensed. Although he preferred kindness and avoided conflict, he would not allow anyone to trample on his family.
"What do I mean? What could I possibly mean? I mean when I get back, I’ll borrow your wife for some fun." Wu Qiang smirked, licking his lips.
"You bastard! Say that again!" Jiang Haishan bellowed, his eyes wide with rage.
"Look at you, you spineless coward. All talk and no action. It seems you’re just like your good-for-nothing son—a total turtle hiding in his shell."
Wu Qiang had expected that with their Young Master Jiang forcing Luo Shui to dress in a wedding gown for the banquet, Qin Mu would have made some sort of move. But the man hadn't dared to make a sound! If a man like that wasn't a coward, who was?
"Don't worry, when I return, I’ll satisfy the emptiness your wife has felt for the last decade. And since I’m a magnanimous man, I’ll even allow you to watch from the sidelines. Hahahaha!" Wu Qiang let out a wild, cackling laugh.
"Don't you dare touch my aunt and uncle!"
Before Jiang Haishan could even react, Luo Shui lashed out at Wu Qiang. She was appalled that he would be so brazen as to harass a decent woman right in front of her.
Wu Qiang simply laughed off her threat, choosing not to press the point further. *You are about to become the property of Young Master Jiang; you will soon be in his arms, beneath him. Once I return to ravish this woman, who is going to stop me?*
Luo Shui glared at him with icy hatred, issued one final warning, then turned back to offer a few comforting words to Qiu Shuixia and Jiang Haishan before picking up her dress and heading downstairs.
"My beautiful lady, once I’m done with my business, I’ll come back to savor you slowly!"
Wu Qiang licked his lips, lingering his gaze on Qiu Shuixia before finally tearing himself away.
Jiang Haishan was trembling with fury; had it not been for his disciplined upbringing, he would have attacked Wu Qiang on the spot. Qiu Shuixia, however, paid no mind to the insult directed at her; she only looked at Luo Shui’s departing figure with a heavy, anxious heart.
"Luo, dear... will she be safe going with people like that?"
...
After an hour’s drive, the Rolls-Royce Wraith came to a halt in front of a magnificent, snow-white structure.
"Princess Luo, please step out."
Wu Qiang held a large umbrella and opened the door for her.
Luo Shui stepped out and looked up at the solitary building. It was crafted entirely from hand-polished stone, ancient in appearance, and steeped in a Romantic, medieval Roman style—utterly opulent.
But Luo Shui’s face paled in astonishment.
This was no banquet hall. It was a wedding chapel!
"Princess Luo, rest assured. Young Master Jiang is always thoughtful and meticulous. We have had the interior decorated to look exactly like a standard banquet hall."
Wu Qiang spoke casually, as if still trying to deceive her into believing this was just a coincidence. "The guests haven't arrived yet, so please head to the back to get your makeup done."
Wu Qiang led her toward the chapel's backstage area. As they passed through, Luo Shui glanced into the main hall.
There, Jiang Qi stood, elegantly holding a glass of red wine, laughing and chatting with several powerful figures from the Jiangnan region.
He looked like a perfect gentleman, full of grace and charm.
