Chapter Ninety-Two: Never Missing a Chance for Trouble? A Composite Chapter of One and a Half Parts
What?
That affair from twenty years ago?
At the sound, everyone’s brows knit tight, as though they had all, by common instinct, thought of some peerless beauty.
“That is only dust from history. What does it have to do with you?” Zhang Feng said in a low voice. Some nameless intuition told him this man seemed to have come with purpose, and his target was not wholly the Black Spider.
“What difference does it make? Damn it, if anyone dares touch one of our Dark Net people, we’ll kill him and hang his head at the door. Let everyone else see that the Dark Net is not to be trifled with!”
A man in a studded leather coat stepped forward and spat, his arrogance overflowing.
Before Qin Mu could speak, a towering man entered from outside at a brisk stride and halted behind him.
Tong Shan, renowned for his physical strength, saw the man and suddenly stiffened, as though facing a great enemy.
Wu Mu stopped behind Qin Mu, gave a report, and opened a folder in his hands.
“It has already been investigated. The Dark Net was indeed involved in that matter.”
Wu Mu glanced through it. He had originally meant to read it aloud to Qin Mu, but upon seeing the charges listed below, he ultimately could not bring himself to say them. Instead, he handed the materials over.
“Tong Shan?”
Qin Mu looked once, and his gaze gradually turned grave as he read the first name in the file.
“How about it?”
Tong Shan stepped forward decisively, breaking formation.
Qin Mu’s earlier slash through the air had been truly stunning.
But on calm reflection, it was in fact only because Qin Mu moved too fast and he had not been prepared.
Had he gathered his strength for defense in advance, Qin Mu’s blade might not have driven him into such a humiliating retreat, too frightened even to touch it.
“You killed her trusted bodyguard?”
Qin Mu raised his eyes and looked at Tong Shan.
Tong Shan was as massive as a great bell, his bronze skin seeming like forged steel. Even if sharp blades struck him, they could only leave a few white marks.
“That’s right. I killed him. Someone paid one hundred million to buy his head.”
“That bitch even tried to run then. Right in front of her, I twisted that bodyguard’s head clean off!”
“That bitch was so scared she kept screaming that bodyguard’s name. The look on that stunning face when it showed such panic—ha, it nearly killed me with laughter!”
By now Tong Shan had already circulated his energy and no longer feared Qin Mu, so his voice was full and bold.
“That bodyguard was her friend from childhood.”
Qin Mu’s voice was like a machine’s, and his gaze at Tong Shan held not the slightest color, cold as an abyss of ice.
“So what? The order from above was clear: everyone connected to that bitch was to be exterminated. If there is blame, blame him for having no discernment, for serving as bodyguard to such a vile woman!” Tong Shan lifted his chin and snorted.
But before his laughter had even escaped twice, Qin Mu suddenly raised a hand.
Boom!
A streak of silver light descended like heavenly judgment.
Too fast for anyone to see!
Bang!
It was as if one could hear the sound of the air before Tong Shan’s chest shattering apart.
Tong Shan had only the instinct to take one step back. He had no chance to react before he crashed heavily to the ground.
Only then did Qin Mu answer in a cold voice.
“It makes no difference!”
Everyone stared in terror. On Tong Shan’s body were several clean, razor-sharp cuts, each one striking a vital point, as if carved by a laser, leaving not the slightest trace.
Hiss!
Everyone’s eyes trembled at the sight.
Faster, harsher than the strike that killed the Black Scorpion!
Another Dark Net assassin had been cut down!
Who on earth was this man?!
How could the means by which he killed people be even more terrifying than those of professional assassins like them?
“Mad Wolf?”
Qin Mu named another.
That name belonged to the man in the studded leather coat who had earlier shouted that he would cut off Qin Mu’s head and hang it before the Dark Net gate as a warning.
“When she was being humiliated by the Zhou family and several others together, was it you who dragged her out of the company and stood by to watch?”
Qin Mu’s voice finally carried a trace of fluctuation, but only Wu Mu could detect that it was fury.
“That’s right, I did it. What of it?”
“That woman deserved to die. We were just taking money to do a job!”
The studded-leather man waved his hand as if he were in the right.
“If you know the Zhou family, then you should know that our Dark Net has countless ties to the upper levels of River City. Some of the assassins here are even raised by the great clans!”
“For example, me—I am the resident assassin hired by the Zhou family for ten million a year!”
“If you dare touch another person of my Dark Net, then beware the Zhou family behind me. Once their wrath falls, not only you, but your entire bloodline going back three generations will run red with blood!”
As soon as Mad Wolf finished, Qin Mu raised two fingers, his hand like a sword, and swept a slash across the air.
Whoosh!
Mad Wolf could not see how Qin Mu moved. He only felt a chill in both arms, followed by a pain like severed nerves spreading through his whole body.
His two arms were cut cleanly away.
“You, you dare...”
“I forgot to tell you. I killed the Zhou family too.”
With that, under Mad Wolf’s horrified and regretful eyes, Qin Mu swept his hand once more, as though wielding a sharp sword, and beheaded him.
Another kill!
Yet at this moment, the center of everyone’s attention was no longer the dead Mad Wolf.
It was Qin Mu’s sentence.
I killed the Zhou family too.
The crowd could no longer stay calm.
Not long ago, rumors had spread within the River Alliance that a terrifying figure had come to River City, stirring up blood and storm, and that this person had successively killed the descendants of several River Alliance families.
Even the son of the Chu family, one of the three great families of the River Alliance, that dragon among men, had been forced to a living burial and left to die.
But with no evidence at all, everyone had treated it as idle entertainment and forgotten it soon after.
And now, when the pieces were matched together.
Was Qin Mu not that terrifying figure?
At that thought, everyone in the room drew in a sharp breath.
“You, what exactly do you want?” Zhang Feng said shakily. His legs were taut, already ready to flee at any moment.
“I have already said it: those who harm my family and friends must die!”
“That filthy bitch was alone back then, and everyone connected to her avoided her like the plague! What friends or family could she possibly have?!” Xiong Shan blurted out without thinking, anger and hatred in his heart as he watched several of his men beheaded.
But the moment he finished speaking, Xiong Shan froze on the spot, his eyes vacant, as though he had suddenly remembered something terrifying.
“You, you could it be that you are her...” Xiong Shan’s throat went dry.
Judging from age, and adding the infant that had vanished without a trace after that beautiful woman died, the person before him was probably, at eighty or ninety percent certainty, that woman’s biological son.
“Oh, right. I almost forgot about you.”
“When the River Alliance hired assassins from the Dark Net, you were the one who made the connection, weren’t you?”
After Qin Mu spoke, Wu Mu behind him drew a pistol from his waist. His movements were so fast they left only afterimages, and in an instant he shot Xiong Shan dead.
Bang!
A huge hole was blasted through Xiong Shan’s head. He died on the spot.
At the sight, everyone’s minds were stunned by the thunderous report of the gun.
What, what kind of identity did this man have?!
How did even a subordinate of his carry a gun?
Qin Mu kept reading the file, and the farther he read, the more enraged he became. With a casual toss, he flung it onto the table, unwilling to speak. Turning away, he felt that even looking at it one more time was infuriating.
“I’ll handle the rest. No need to trouble my master.”
Wu Mu gave a cold laugh and slowly moved the muzzle.
Zhang Feng, Fox Lady, and the others instantly panicked.
No matter how strong an assassin was, none could dodge bullets!
“Wait! Don’t kill me!”
“Please, I’ll do anything! Just don’t kill me!”
“When you laid hands on an unarmed woman back then, you should have known this day would come.”
Wu Mu shook his head. “My master only wants your lives as atonement for your crimes!”
...
After Wu Mu finished dealing with the facility-related people in the Dark Net and came out, he was holding a square handkerchief, wiping his hands.
“All those involved have been executed. As for the rest, I have already notified Zhang Feng and the others to come and clean up,” Wu Mu reported.
It was rather amusing, really.
Within the whole Dark Net, among the so-called ten great assassins, only Meng the Madman, true to his reputation, thought bullying a woman shameful and did not covet a single cent, promptly refusing that assignment.
“I have already ordered people to search for information with full effort. It has been twenty years, though. To sift out everything that happened back then, and all the families involved, is indeed somewhat difficult,” Wu Mu sighed.
