Chapter 118: The Dream of Flight
Jia Wenle sneered fiercely and quickly pulled out a handful of small steel balls from the hidden pouch on his motorcycle's handlebar.
At high speed, if the tires ran over these steel balls, the handlebars would slip without a doubt. And once the handlebars slipped, the whole bike would inevitably crash!
After learning that Jia Wenle had suddenly decided to join the race, Hua Tianyu kept a watchful eye on him.
Past the first bend, after Jia Wenle was left behind, he deliberately squeezed toward the space between the two riders in an attempt to catch up. Hua Tianyu immediately knew that he was itching to make a move.
So Hua Tianyu kept glancing at Jia Wenle through his rearview mirror. Seeing the ferocity on his face and the movements of his hand, Hua Tianyu pursed his lips slightly and thought to himself, “You’re looking for death—don’t blame me.”
Before Jia Wenle could act, Hua Tianyu lightly tapped the brake, instantly slowing his motorcycle. Their bike fronts aligned side by side.
Che Peiqing and Jia Wenle were both stunned. Why was Hua Tianyu slowing down?
Although they were about to enter a curve, it wasn’t yet the point to reduce speed; besides, Hua Tianyu typically didn’t slow down for curves.
Compared to Che Peiqing’s surprise, Jia Wenle was more pleased. Riding side by side made it easier for him to carry out his plan.
This Hua Tianyu was even cooperating so well with his own demise!
One of Jia Wenle’s hands lightly left the handlebar and was raised, ready to scatter the steel balls in front of Hua Tianyu’s motorcycle.
Suddenly, Hua Tianyu flashed a sinister smile at him—a smile that sent a chill rising from the depths of Jia Wenle’s heart.
“Watch out!” At that moment, Lin Lin’s sharp shout reached his ears.
His small trick didn’t go unnoticed—not by Hua Tianyu, nor by Lin Lin.
Before he could react, Hua Tianyu’s motorcycle surged forward at incredible speed. His right hand grabbed Jia Wenle’s left hand, heavy with steel balls, and fiercely swung it across his own face.
At such high speed, Hua Tianyu’s strike carried tremendous force and momentum.
Jia Wenle’s left hand, clenched into a fist around the steel balls, was slammed hard against his own face before he could release it.
A fierce and precise punch!
His face twisted violently, a tooth flying out of his mouth. In pain, his left fist instinctively loosened.
“Clatter!” The loose tooth and a handful of steel balls flew toward Che Peiqing beside him.
If it had only been this hit, as long as Jia Wenle’s right hand held firmly to the handlebars, he might have been fine.
But Lin Lin, skilled in martial arts, also struck—more accurately, her long leg delivered a fierce kick.
Remember, Lin Lin and Hua Tianyu were on the same bike. To sabotage Hua Tianyu was to sabotage her. How could she let Jia Wenle succeed?
Lin Lin was hot-tempered and disciplined in martial arts; she wouldn’t tolerate any trickery.
If Hua Tianyu hadn’t brought the bike close, she might not have had the chance, but since he did, she seized the moment to deliver a powerful kick.
The kick landed squarely on the motorcycle’s center of gravity.
Damn it...
Jia Wenle only had time to think these words before he and his bike lost balance.
Suddenly, he felt as if his childhood dream of flying had come true. His body soared, looking up at the earth and down at the sky.
But both the earth and sky were spinning wildly!
And because he had been overconfident before the race, he hadn’t worn a helmet or basic protective gear.
In that instant, only one thought filled Jia Wenle’s mind: I’m done for.
It was the last thought he ever had.
The next moment, with a thunderous crash, his head struck a tree thick enough to require two people to embrace it. The tremendous impact of his body and motorcycle broke the tree in half.
Jia Wenle was finished!
Yet, before he died, the handful of steel balls he intended to use against Hua Tianyu caused havoc for Che Peiqing.
When Hua Tianyu lightly braked, the three riders were almost side by side. Hua Tianyu’s maneuver caused Jia Wenle to scatter all the steel balls in front of Che Peiqing’s bike.
Che Peiqing saw a cluster of shiny silver objects rushing toward him. Having raced for so long, he immediately understood what they were.
“Damn it!” he cursed, but it was too late. His motorcycle’s front wheel ran over the steel balls, and he felt his handlebars come alive, no longer responding to his control!
At high speed, encountering danger, slamming the brakes was never the answer—for cars or motorcycles.
Only gentle braking was the safest way to slow down.
But at this moment, gentle braking was impossible for Che Peiqing. All he could do was grip the brake as hard as he could.
Unsurprisingly, even this seasoned rider lost control and crashed.
Still, after nearly ten years on motorcycles, Che Peiqing knew how to fall. At the moment of impact, he released the handlebars and kicked his bike hard with his foot.
This move separated him from the hundreds of kilograms of metal, preventing the bike from crushing him and sparing him from being dragged along the ground.
Che Peiqing’s protective gear was fully worn today, and luck was on his side. He slid along the ground for over twenty meters without hitting any fatal trees or guardrails.
Finally, his backside slammed into a wall. It hurt terribly, but at least he was alive and able to stand.
Though he had to lean on the wall, rising slowly after three attempts.
Looking down at the blood pooling around Jia Wenle, at the two oblivious female racers, and the two overturned Yamahas, Che Peiqing knew the race was over.
He had lost.
Jia Wenle was finished.
If his body wasn’t nearly broken to pieces, regardless of Jia Wenle’s fate, he would have gone over and kicked him a few more times.
This idiot!
Che Peiqing spat blood and cursed silently.
If Jia Wenle hadn’t tried to cheat with those steel balls and got countered in the process...
If it had been a fair race, who would Che Peiqing fear?
