Chapter Sixty-Seven: Memories Always Make Me Want to Cry
“Fatty, wait for me. Once I’ve earned enough money in the city, I’ll come back, and we’ll open a chicken farm together. We’ll sell one, eat one, and set one free. If you miss me, it’ll be just like I’m still with you. I’ll pass lots of gas for you—you can just take a whiff.”
“Mister, you must have mistaken me for someone else.”
“Sanpang, stop living in the past.”
These scenes kept looping and playing in his mind, one after another.
Hao Yingjun slowly walked over and took the balloon from his hand. Wang Zixuan, too, gradually lowered her gun and took out a pair of handcuffs to restrain Li Sanpang. But unexpectedly, Hao Yingjun was struck on the back of the head with a brick and fell unconscious. The hydrogen balloon slipped from his grasp and floated away.
The leader, brandishing the brick, swaggered and said, “I’ve waited all day for you.”
Wang Zixuan turned around just in time to see the balloon drifting off.
The leader pointed the brick at Wang Zixuan. “You too.”
Wang Zixuan didn’t even bother acknowledging him and sprinted after the hydrogen balloon.
“Damn it, this is going to be bad,” Wang Zixuan muttered.
Seeing Wang Zixuan trying to escape, the leader gave chase as well.
“Hey, stop right there! Block her off!” he shouted.
A few henchmen rushed over, quickly fanning out to cut off Wang Zixuan’s path. The alley was too narrow, and there were too many people. She couldn’t get around them.
“You thought you were so tough, huh? Keep running!” taunted the leader.
Wang Zixuan answered coldly, “I warn you—good dogs don’t block the road.”
The leader sneered, “You’re even more full of it than that guy I just knocked down, the one who claims to cure infertility. Just look at how many of us there are. I’ll let you off since you’re a pretty face. But here, give yourself a lump just like the one on my head, and we’ll call it even.”
With that, he lunged at her with the brick. Wang Zixuan showed him no mercy—she took him down in a flash, then smacked him with the brick right where he’d been hit before. His henchmen quickly dragged him back.
“She’s trained—take her down!” the leader shouted.
One of the lackeys charged at her without hesitation, only to be floored by Wang Zixuan’s punch and kick. As she took him out, another seized the chance to kick her from behind. Wang Zixuan blocked it with both hands, though the force left her arms tingling.
“Not so tough now, are you? Fine—go at her one by one. I want to see how long she can last,” the leader barked.
Just then, a black mist began to swirl around Wang Zixuan. One of the underlings held the others back.
A short, chubby guy shrank behind the leader and whispered, “What kind of trick is that?”
“What the hell are you doing?” the leader snapped.
“Special effects? Trying to impress the boss?” another lackey joked.
“Come on, don’t be so half-hearted. Take this seriously!” the leader retorted.
But as the black mist spread around them, the gangsters began to feel a chill creeping into their bones. Only then did they sense something was very wrong. The surroundings grew blurry; all they could see were Wang Zixuan’s eyes, bright as searchlights. Fear overtook them.
“She’s a monster!” the leader cried.
“Hurry up—I’m in a rush. Come at me together,” Wang Zixuan replied.
“To hell with it! All together!” the leader yelled.
But with their vision obscured, they were no match for Wang Zixuan; she brought them down in no time. The leader was pinned under her foot, struggling helplessly.
“Quick, apologize! Let’s end this here!” he begged.
