Wang Zixuan casually handed the beauty a cushion, so those two would stop staring at her like creeps.

That made Hao Yingjun and the other man both show pained expressions, and Wang Zixuan caught them at it.

So the act is over now, is it?

Wang Zixuan said, “Last night, around eleven or so, I was asleep when I suddenly felt someone touching my leg. I turned on the light and saw someone licking my leg.”

At that, all three of them on this side immediately made disgusted faces.

That was way too much.

Wang Zixuan said, “Are you sure it was licking?”

The beauty nodded firmly. “Yes, I’m sure.”

Xiaojia shook her head and clicked her tongue. “That’s filthy.”

Wang Zixuan asked, “Can you describe what he looked like?”

The beauty said, “He was wearing something over his head, so I couldn’t see clearly. I shouted, and then he ran out onto the terrace.”

At that, all of them looked toward the terrace, each lost in thought.

The beauty continued, “I chased after him. The window was open, but he was gone. I even looked outside, and there was nothing there either. He just vanished into thin air.”

Wang Zixuan and Hao Yingjun said at the same time, “Vanished?”

“Yes,” the beauty replied.

Zhou Tong rubbed his nose, thinking over the case, while Wang Zixuan and Hao Yingjun both turned to look at Xiaojia. Xiaojia had been recruited by the investigation center precisely because of her gift for slipping away and concealing herself.

Hao Yingjun said, “Impressive.”

Xiaojia said, “Me? You’re talking about me again? What the hell? I was on duty at the center last night. There’s surveillance footage to prove it, okay?”

Zhou Tong said, “Vanishing into thin air means either he can fly and left through the window, or he can turn invisible or use some other hiding trick and slipped away afterward, or he can swim out through the toilet.”

While Zhou Tong was speaking, Hao Yingjun glanced toward the terrace. There was a cage and a pet bowl. He then turned back to the beauty.

After Zhou Tong finished, he asked, “Miss Wang, where is your dog?”

The beauty said, “Oh, I used to have one, but later I got too busy and didn’t have time to keep it, so I sent it back to my hometown.”

Hao Yingjun said, “No, there were two dogs.”

After hearing that, Wang Zixuan and the others all turned to look at him.

Hao Yingjun stood up and walked to the terrace. He opened the sliding door, crouched by the wall, and explained, “Look at these urine stains.”

He reached out, touched them, then held his fingers to his nose and sniffed.

Hao Yingjun said, “A big dog peed higher up. A small dog peed lower down. They were both marking the base of this wall as their territory, right?”

After checking, he came back, closed the door, and sat down on the sofa again.

The beauty said, “The one I sent home was just an Old English Sheepdog. A few days ago, while I was out jogging in the park, I ran into a little Teddy again. I hadn’t planned on bringing it back, but it kept following me around and acting cute, so I took it home.”

Hao Yingjun asked, “And the Teddy?”

The beauty said, “This morning, when I was accepting a delivery, it slipped out through the door.”

That immediately drew everyone’s attention to this clue.

Hao Yingjun asked, “Where and when did you pick up that Teddy?”

The beauty said, “Last Saturday. Moon River Park.”

Hao Yingjun looked at Wang Zixuan. It was obvious they had the answer already.

Wang Zixuan said, “Let’s go.”

The beauty looked bewildered and seemed about to say something, but seeing Wang Zixuan and the others leaving, she held back.

Zhou Tong gave Xiaojia a look, and the two of them followed as well.

Zhou Tong said, “Hurry up and keep pace.”
