Dong pursed his lips and remained silent. For now, let her take good care of Qianyin. If things really fell apart, she wouldn’t even have a chance to make amends with Qianyin.

“I’m sorry. I know I’ve done many things I shouldn’t have recently. I apologize to all of you, and I also apologize to Qianyin,” An Feng said sincerely as he placed a bouquet of roses and a fruit basket on the table and turned around.

Dong said nothing. After all, they deserved to apologize. But these matters couldn’t be resolved with a mere apology. Whether forgiveness was granted was up to Qianyin. None of them—whether as younger brothers or disciples—had the right to decide for Sister Qianyin.

Mo Lan remained silent, took the medicinal soup, and sat beside Qianyin, carefully feeding her. Dong watched anxiously from nearby. He had felt uneasy just when he wasn’t allowed in yesterday.

An Feng stood awkwardly without a response. Immortal Elder said nothing either; he walked over, picked an orange from the fruit basket, and began peeling it as if he were at home.

Suddenly, Dong’s phone vibrated sharply. He frowned. His phone rarely rang, and the people who called were usually nearby. Could something have happened to Xiao Bei? He picked up and saw it was indeed Xiao Bei. Nanxi and another guy had abandoned him.

The moment he answered, Xiao Bei’s anxious voice came through, “Big Brother, something’s wrong! Mo Fan escaped, and there are others coming to support him. Two masked men beat me and took someone away.”

Dong frowned and glanced at the two present. He smiled and said, “Then hurry back. Let Immortal Elder check your injuries. Don’t worry about anything else. Mo Fan’s matter is the Mo family’s business. The masked men belong to the police. It has nothing to do with us assassins.”

Xiao Bei was at the hospital, his lips twitching repeatedly. He had expected to be blamed for not watching the person carefully. But it was better to return quickly. There were too many people in the hospital, and he wasn’t sure if those men were still nearby.

Mo Lan and An Feng’s mouths twitched as well. Both looked at Dong and pressed their lips together without speaking. This guy was so petty. Why was he still worried about this matter? Hadn’t they all apologized?

Mo Lan was genuinely worried about Mo Fan. After all, Mo Fan was the last heir of the Mo family. If harmed, there would be no one to carry on the family legacy.

After speaking, Dong walked ahead, noticing Mo Lan’s expression. The medicine had soaked Qianyin’s clothes. How could she be so careless in feeding her? It would be better to—

“How are you feeding her? Qianyin’s clothes are all wet. If you can’t do it properly, give it to me. No one forced you to take care of her here,” Dong said deliberately provokingly. He was already thinking of leaving the Mo family. If Mo Lan handled this, things might go more smoothly.

Mo Lan snapped back to her senses, quickly using her sleeve to wipe the spilled medicine. Seeing Qianyin was fine, she spoke with a somewhat low spirit, “I’m sorry. I’m taking care of Qianyin to make amends. No one forced me. I will take good care of her, don’t worry.”

An Feng was somewhat displeased. He could clearly see Dong’s intention, but with Mo Lan so stubborn now, he couldn’t make his point too obvious. Regarding Mo Fan’s disappearance, he planned to visit the hospital. He patted Mo Lan on the shoulder and said, “I’m going to handle Mo Fan’s matter. You two take care of Qianyin here.”

Mo Lan nodded, glanced at An Feng’s departing figure, and continued tending to Qianyin. Seeing this, Dong said no more. There would be plenty of chances to provoke the Mo family people later.

Immortal Elder peeled a beautiful orange, carefully splitting it into two halves, and tugged at Dong’s collar to hand him a piece. Dong looked at him puzzled. Today, the old man neither pleaded nor sided with anyone. Did Immortal Elder think Qianyin was more important than all of them?

Mo Lan was very patient, coaxing Qianyin to swallow the medicine from the bowl. Immortal Elder and Dong sat nearby peeling oranges, having already eaten a bellyful.

Mo Lan’s arm grew tired. She lifted it and set the medicine bowl down, then looked back at Dong and Immortal Elder.

Just as Mo Lan put down the bowl, Immortal Elder swallowed the last bright yellow orange segment, then locked eyes sternly with Mo Lan and said seriously, “From now on, whoever feeds Qianyin medicine must talk to her about happy memories. Don’t mention her sorrows. Wake her up as soon as possible—I don’t want her to stay asleep forever.”

Hearing this, Dong and Mo Lan both nodded. Immortal Elder sighed, then moved forward to check her temperature, heart rate, and pulse once more. After confirming everything was normal, he returned to his courtyard to tend to the herbs.

Mo Lan quietly stayed with Qianyin, recounting past events. Dong sat nearby, watching, eager to hear what had happened between them and why Qianyin would do so much for Mo Lan.

At the bar,

A group of people were terrified by the sound of gunfire and moved away from the two frenzied figures dancing at the center holding two glasses. These two drunken men actually had guns. Seeing their tear-streaked faces once stirred some sympathy, but upon noticing the guns, everyone backed away, afraid to approach and comfort them.

A young woman immediately grabbed her phone and called the police station. The person who answered was none other than An Feng. It was unclear when An Feng’s phone had become a public line.

“Hello, what’s the matter?”

“Please hurry to the 'June Bar.' Two drunk people here are waving guns around. We’re all so scared,” the woman’s voice trembled. The two were dancing wildly with guns, occasionally firing shots. Bullets had already shattered glass, liquor bottles, and even some glasses.

An Feng’s face darkened completely. Who dared to bring guns into a bar?

“Okay, I’m on my way. Find a place to hide,” An Feng said, immediately driving toward June Bar.

He drove fast and arrived within minutes. After getting out and surveying the surroundings, his brows furrowed slightly upon seeing Liu Fei and the others’ car. They were here too—why hadn’t they stopped the two?

An Feng assessed the terrain and seeing no easy escape, drew his gun and charged inside. The dim interior was illuminated by flashing colored lights. An Feng disliked places like this, heavy with the scent of alcohol and perfume.

At the very back, he found the two gun-wielding dancers: Xiao Qi and Liu Fei. His pupils dilated as he looked around at the many people crouched on the floor. Resigned, he stepped forward.

Some recognized An Feng and quickly approached, saying, “Captain An Feng, that’s them.”

“It’s fine. You all better hide quickly,” An Feng said, half-joking. Yet the group immediately backed away, hiding under tables and near doors.

Seeing how obedient they were, An Feng swiftly disarmed the two, attaching their guns to his waist, then stared coldly at them. How could they make such a basic mistake?
